I'm Łukasz from Poland. I've signed to this forum almost a year ago as I was looking for reliable sources of information about futures. Soon enough I've found out that's there no easy way of trading them in my country. There's no polish brokerage companies that offer them and I don't want to rely on foreign jurisdictions when something goes wrong.
Anyway, I educated myself during past couple of months and decided to try trading CFD's based on ES, NQ, YM and FDAX through a polish brokerage house. I made a lot of mistakes caused by well known psychological pitfalls that awaits for every begginer in trading world and lost some money. Then I returned to studying.
Yesterday I've found an email called 'FIO Journal Challenge - Feb 2021 w/Topstep' and decided to give trading another try. This time in a more disciplined way, self-reflecting on my trades in a journal and hopefully receiving some constructive feedback
I've also read about TopStep Trader and I think that could be a way to trade the real futures market from Poland. To do that succesfully I need a basic trading process in place first and I plan to start developing one this month.
Hello,
Name is Kelly I first started day trading back in 2000's when I found a website called Paltalk there were rooms where we traded together buy and sells were called out in real time. The owner of the room left he came down with Cancer some of us broke off formed our own room. We gotten into trading stocks with high margin LLC group start out with $5000. I traded the 2008 market crash made good money on those big drops but eventually gave it all back as like many had a tough time dealing with greed and fear making changes to my trading system. Later I tried futures had little success in daytrading the biggest issue was I was unable to trade full time had to work days most of the time I could only trade early morning, or days I took off from work. Things have changed now I'm 100% remote I'm wanting to try it again. I will be doing some paper trading for awhile I know it's not the same but I really want to get a system working doesn't require (Gut feelings).
Hi there,
my name is Mark and I currently live in the Czech Republic.
I have been looking into futures trading for over three years now.
Finally see some encouraging results and start to be consistent.
Safe trading to all.
Hello all!
My name is Nolan. I have Asperger's, highly functional, 99% of IQ(blah blah). The reason I mention this is because I've been working as a Medical Technologist for the past 6 years and this last year COVID broke me mentally. Financially I've managed to build enough capital and set myself up to get out. 2 days ago I gave a months notice. 2 months from now I plan to start live trading. This is not as risky as it sounds, due to the fact I could get another position at any time to supplement my income.
Honestly I feel this is my chance to forge my way in the world. This is an optimal environment for me to apply myself without distraction or obsessing about my interactions with my coworkers. As weird as it sounds to some people, staring at these charts for hours on end seems to give me purpose and drive. They say like 90% of traders cant profit but I've never related to 95% of people anyway haha.
Anyways I came here to learn and hopefully at some point I can pass it along.
Very glad to find a forum to share and learn form other traders. I am learning futures trading for a year and my goal now is to do a combine, to test my knowledge.
Hello Big Mike and fellow traders. I am an Australian full-time trader, trading primarily in Australian shares and Options. I'm hoping to make a move into the Futures market. My trading strategy is based on reading order flow and making discretionary calls. I hope to contribute and learn from everyone here. Good luck with all your trades!
Unlike many people here, I never really traded much, only invested in a few funds that I rotate every couple years using my pension money. Few stocks as well and very briefly CFDs. Gone very well so far.
I started putting aside €1000/month for trading and will continue doing so for the foreseeable future. In the meanwhile I'm trying to be as prepared as possible and have a good start. I would say that I have relatively good theoretical base around securities and investments in general (master degrees in finance & investments and truly enjoy reading research papers about asset pricing and anomalies). Never really had the courage, or the money for that matter, to try trading more frequently. I've been paper trading for years and don't think I can get much else from it by now.
Not sure when or if I would trade futures, but it's so interesting to read all your discussions. Looking forward to learning from you guys and maybe share whatever it is I can share of value.
Thanks for this futures trading forum. I am new to futures and trying to get off to a good start. My present concerns are understanding the choices for brokers, platforms, and data. I am typically interested in customizing indicators/strategies and am willing to write code to do so -- so I am looking for a platform that will let me do that, be reasonable in cost, portable if I need to change brokers. In addition to a standard account at TDAmeritrade, which I am looking to change brokers for, I also have a solo 401k account that I need to decide what to do.
Any pointers to forum threads that address these issues would be greatly appreciated.
