Hi All Just a quick intro. I have been trading on and off for the last 20 years and have traded Stocks, Futures and a bit of Crypto's. I am looking to take my trading a little more serious with a view to making a living from it. I am a Price Action Day Trader and using TWS with IB at the moment but in the process of setting up with AMP and Ninjatrader. I am in Australia so looking to trade some of the Major Asian Pacific Indices like the ASX SPI200, Nikkey, Hang Seng, Kospi and so on as they are in a suitable timezone for me to trade. I am looking for recommendations on some of the better Mini Contracts to trade in this region and a good fast Volitile market. Look forward to meeting some of you all here.
Hello there!
I've been trading futures since 2019.
At the beginning I was trading currency futures but after a while I moved exclusively on ES.
See you!
Been trading since 2016. But have been really finicky since early 2019. Jan 03 2019 was probably the worst day of my trading life. Sold off a lifetime of AAPL stock due to a pre-determined stop loss ($145, around $46 today). Since then I am developed a fear on going long anything, with the fear that a massive selloff is just around the corner. Gradually I built my confidence and then March 2020 happened.
And since then I have developed a fear of going long (FOGL). I am still unable to think straight and trade with the trend. Now I feel like I missed the boat, but am unable to get back into the market due to everything being inflated. Wondering if any fellow traders are in a similar boat.
Began my career at Nymex working in oil markets in 90's. Started trading Crack Spreads in 2000 but left floor when electronic trading volumes started to exceed pit volume. I had some rough years during the transition and cost myself a ton of money. So at one point i eventually decided to make a short lived move to equities. After that debacle i went back to my roots and have been trading CME futures contracts exclusively ever since. Still learn something new each week and hope to gain insight from all of you here at futures.io!
I have couple years of trading stocks, futures, and options. I recently switched to trading NQ futures only and am looking forward to connecting to the community.
I quit trading stocks and options on stocks due to the fact that I tend to like trading instruments that represent a large portion of the market. Stocks and options never really felt right. I did fairly well scalping stocks and swinging options, but I didn't have a strong edge, wasn't having fun trading, and felt like trading on the direction of general conditions instead of individual securities.
After switching over to trading NQ futures only, I blew up a small account. This was due to overtrading, impatience, not having a proven/clear system, poor risk management, taking too much risk, and many more common mistakes. Despite originally thinking this was an unfortunate event, after deep introspection, reflection, and analyzation of the event, I found this experience helped me become better and I am grateful for it. I now am in the process of a developing and using a system that has been working well for me.
Anyways, I am excited to join the community, learn, and talk to people about trading.
I trade futures almost exclusively. Since you like trading general conditions with equities, have you traded ETFs (leveraged or otherwise?). Futures are fun, but the indexes can be a cruel master/mistress.
I've been around here for some time, while using Metatrader 4/5 & Ninjatrader NT7/8 for my trading over many years. However, feel a need to get involved in programming my own experiences and trading fine tuning. In that respect I believe being here the right place. Looking forward to learn & share from you ALL
