Hello Forum Members: I am the classic case of a trader who thought he knew it all, only to find out I really knew nothing. I practiced law for 35 years, and, if I don't mind saying so, I was successful. As such, after I retired I thought I could easily transition into futures trading and be equally successful. I couldn't have been more wrong. I blew up my account! For the past year I have been reading trading books, watching videos, etc. That is how I happened upon this forum. I look forward to learning from you. However, if anyone wants to know what not to do, I'll be happy to help out. In that department, I have a wealth of experience!
New futures trader here. Started with live accounts(4k) but trading very conservatively just 1 micro contract at the time... In 4 weeks 200 trades and up 40$.
I usually scalp but got stuck for longer ones couple times. I qualified for Tradestation salutes program thus my trades are 0.45$ side plus fees). Tried Tradovate but canceled due to slow execution(it appeared to me) and extra fees(CME 13$), connecting to Tradingview(9.99$).
I trade Micros on Tradestation and also have Tradingview.
Looking to start one of the Combines too - most likely Top Step.
Reading/studying: AL Brooks Price Action course and John Grady – no bs day trading
Thanks for creating this forum - looks like a great opportunity to learn for others' successes and failures.
I traded futures in the past and lost enough that I gave up for many years, then recently decided to get back into oil futures options after getting some training and paper trading for 4 or 5 months.
After 8 months of real money trading, I'm down a bit but am still treading water and trying hard to keep learning with a limited account. Feels like I'm, learning to surf!
After trading options, stocks, forex, and crypto. I fell in love with trading and have set a mission to become one of the greatest. I really enjoy the trend following methods. If anyone can refer me to trend following strategies/indicators, or any other useful material let me know!
About me: I have blown my account due to ill risk management multiple times and vow to do better. Taking it one step at a time!
My name is Robert, I am a skilled Forex and Futures trader with 12 years of experience. I started my career in Business Management at a Credit Score Repair startup, eventually moving to the First Republic Bank where not only I helped the company expand, but I also learned about investing and finances. I started getting involved in investing and eventually decided to become a full time trader. After 12 years of a successful career with up-and-downs I want to share my knowledge with people from all over the world and want to become a successful writer.
Hello this will be my first time fully trading futures I really didn't know much about this market but I am happy to have found it and excited to learn but literally I do not know anything about futures it's a whole new ball game to me I'm excited though. Is there any training involved that is step by step for newcomers
