Yesterday I was trading live using the Multicharts DT beta 4 DOM connected to the latest IB TWS. After entering the positions, I ve put on my STOP order and LMT order (profit target).

So, the trade develops nicely and all of a sudden the market looses its momentum few ticks before my PT, so naturally I want to close the positions right NOW, so I hit the little "Close" button to close all positions and ... and ... and .. NOTHING happened, the original STP and LMT order went disabled in DOM (couldnt click or move them), so I switched to IB TWS to see what the hell is going on and there was this close (market) order marked red or orange and I couldnt do anything with it but wait.

So after about 10 minutes of frustration the order was filled and all positions closed, me ending up in profit farther then my PT, which was nice, but should this happen in the opposite direction, I would tear my hair off.

This happened on YM Emini, the liquidity was very good at the time of trade.

Has somebody had the same problem when closing positions?

thx Petr

If you really want to have the answer, you would need to keep the log and trace files of both MultiCharts and Interactive Brokers. This will tell you which type of order was transmiited from MultiCharts to TWS and then from TWS to Interactive Brokers servers. You would also need to tell us the exact time, when it happened.

Without this information, nobody can answer your question.

Further did this happen on your real account or your simulation account?

Do you access Swiss or US servers of Interactive Brokers for order execution?

If it happens on your real account, you can simply call the broker by phone and ask them to close the position manually..
