some time ago I posted about the tradeitdontdateit videos on youtube. He has a new video up and shows his DOM with an account number. ‪tradeitdontdateitcom's Channel‬‏ - YouTube
Looks pretty real to me. He trades large size and makes some serious $$. I'd sure like to know how he does it. watch video if interested. He isn't selling anything!
The trader "lakai" that runs the site and uploads realtime videos is a good friend of mine from out on the west coast. He trades big size and scalps until he can catch trends whether long or short. I met him in tos chat a few years ago when i was transitioning from stock/options to futures. Great guy and always offers help for free. The videos are real
but just to show you, it doesn't matter what numbers are shown on the dom. you can name your sim account anyway you want. the only thing you can't change is the color of the dom's background. at least I believe.
anyway the 2. pic shows the background color of a real account.
Hes legit. He usually does a live stream and is a great momentum trader. He taught me alot about Techincals and learning to trade without relying on indicators. I had more indicators then a nasa shuttle station before but the T/A and levels have helped.
And even if it was cash, it can still be a deception. He could make $1M today when he recorded the video, and lost $100M the last 3 days when he didn't post videos. I am not saying the guy is a fake. I hope he is real. (I have not watched the video). I'm just talking about the "real vs fake" stuff.
Bottom line is, don't "believe" in something because they claim to be profitable. Just take away from it what you can to learn for yourself, what may be helpful to your own trading, don't try to copy or mimic someone else's trading.
You can make a SIM DOM look like a Live DOM as for colors, and you can fake the account number as you mentioned already.
Again my point is not that the guy is fake or real. My point is, who cares. If you learn something from the video to incorporate into your own trading that makes sense to you and your method, great. But if you want to copy his method because you think he is rich, then you are heading down the wrong path.
I know you know this Sly, I am aiming at other users
first things first, if you bother to watch his "live stream" during the trading day, you'd notice that he DOESN'T EVEN LET YOU WATCH HIM TRADE during the morning session and during the afternoon. sometimes he lets you watch him trade pre-market and sometimes during the lunch hours.
so..... why won't he let you watch him trade? he would rather you didn't watch him trade live, he'd prefer if you watched his edited videos on youtube..... doesn't make sense..
second, he doesn't scalp, but he does read tape in conjunction with support and resistance on the tick charts. also he scales into positions and does take some drawdown, he trades anywhere between 100-500 lots on the ES and usually less than 50 lots on the euro and oil
thirdly, it can absolutely be a sim trading account. it just isn't the non customer "testing" sim account. usually when you sign up with brokers they give you a real account number and a personal sim account number that look pretty similar and are totally different from the public non-member testing sim account that non-customers can access.
now i'm not saying he is a sim trader because while watching him trade i can tell he is reading order flow to validate support and resistance also i can see his 50 lot limits being front run, i just think its stupid that he has a live trading room and doesn't keep his screen open during the high volume hours of trade. i personally would like to watch how he manages his risk while trading 250 lots but since that's only for "best trade" reruns, i guess i wont bother with him anymore
