I'm using CQG Demo account with the latest Ninjatrader 64. I have been having data feed problems all month - this week being by far the worst. Keep in mind I've been using my ninjatrader/scripts without ANY problems for over a year.
The problems: When I place an order on the DOM, it automatically hit's my stop loss as soon as I place it (I can place my ATM stop at 8 ticks or 100, it still hits it automatically right when the trade is placed).
Also, data has been showing up missing with gaps and strange bars, along with random connection drops. The worst connection drops/issues seem to be taking place around MAJOR areas of resistance/support and pivots.
I called CQG yesterday and was greeted with incompetence, they were no help at all.
Thoughts????
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Just to add another somewhat related question, what are the major differences between 32/64 bit NT besides hardware limitations (32 bit obviously having some RAM/CPU limitations)
Could some indicators/ninjascripts be finicky with 64 bit?
BAU250 on this forum there has not been a single complaint from production clients. If you want the best performance open an account with AMP and trade.
I experience same with 6 simultanuous NT7 charts and realtime indicators opened up the same time. After a burst of activity on the exchanges the NT7 charts lag my other feeds and platforms, don´t match up the delay when less ticks are coming in after some time, either. I have to reconnect manually, then. This is on a dual and a quad core machine.
Settiing all indicators to compute by bar close only or chart refresh by 0,3s default is not an option for me. I think jtrealstats and T+S are very critical to NT7 performance when you want to use "near" realtime display latency settings like 10ms. The only way i found out to get rid of these performance things is disenabling the realtime indicators or very fast latency settings.
I don't think this kind of answer helps a lot...
If the CQG demo account has a very different behavior from a real account, which is what I understand in your answer, maybe CQG should not offer demo at all. If their is no support for the demo users, which is fine, support has a cost, that's another reason to avoid offering demos.
@Bau250, the problem is on CQG demo side, imvho, nothing to do with 32/64 bits of NT. You can try the 32 bits version on your W7 64 bits, the problem should be the same.
I think the problem is the amount of tick data the exchanges deliver nowadays and that your software/machine/internet connection have to deal with when you use an unfiltered feed.
The amount of ticks increased dramatically when the exchanges decided to "unblock" orders to be seen in the tape some years ago. But who wants a snapshot data feed or even worse some bucketshop mt4 price feed for serious trading?
Just a quick shout-out to Dan over at Amp Futures for the excellent customer service and communication on getting the problem resolved yesterday and this morning. Thanks!
Guys...how is the Demo Data thru CQG. Is it a different feed as compared to Live. Are there any issues? Can this be used for testing over next 3/4 months....or the feed is different if a live customer?
Guess Ninja with CQG feed is what I guess is being discussed here. Any comments on how long is the demo valid for before getting into live trading?
