Hi all,

It seems that when entering a multi contract position in NT using an ATM, if some of the stop/profit targets are at the same price NT will just group them together so you cant move them independently. Is there any work around for this?

For example, I enter a position with 3 contracts and have an ATM setup as follows:

I want to be able to manage the stop losses on those 3 contracts independently. But NT groups them together because they're at the same price and therefore I am only able to move all 3 at the same time.

I realize one possible solution would just be to enter each stop order 1 tick away from each other. But that's not what I want and far from ideal. The initial stop should be the same for all 3 contracts. But then I will manage each of them independently.

Any advice?
Thanks.

I don't remember precisely how, but it is possible to pull them apart, as log is it's several orders at one price level (as opposed to a single order with several contracts). The way it is handled in NT is a bit cumbersome though. You might want to have a look at vvMiniTradePanel, it has a button to pull these orders apart...

Cool thanks, ill have a look into vvMiniTradePanel

...and yes, I just need to manage the 3 separate orders individually. As apposed to one order with several contracts. I would guess this is a fairly common practice among traders. Start with a hard stop for the entire position, but then manage the stops for each part individually as the trade moves.
