Sierra chart with interactive brokers or infinity futures
Great.
I am also doing some demo with futures data in one platform and CFD broker data in other platform.
The main issues are as you describe. Prices differ and so it is hard to manage stop and target orders based on the main futures data, and there is also the difference in the price activity!
Do you do handle your set up entirely in SC? I mean, having open charts from different data sources at the same time?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Yes, exactly that. I have several FDAX charts open, and then one from my CFD broker, which has trade from chart enabled, and you can also trade from the trade window (useful for entering at bid or ask), and hotkeys.
Ok. got it. I am also doing that. So far so good, except for the limitations on price difference and having stop and target orders in levels where my real futures data tells me.
i also want to use an ritmic datafeed and orders over IB...i have no clue how to connect both together.
i switched from a ninjatrader multibroker platform...there i needet first to connect the ritmic data feed and then IB...no problem.
But i dont know how to proceed with SC.
Can anyone help me out?
thank you
Well, I'm not an expert on SC, but for what I have read, you must do a second Sierra install on another folder, then log in with your Sierra account on that second installation and connect to the second data feed.
I haven't done that yet, since I just have SC connected to one data feed and execute from CFD brokerīs platform.
If you try it, let us know if it worked for you.
I have some questions relating to IB data on SC platform;
1. I love my Sierra Chart and so far it works okay with IB data, until recently I had problems with different values when I mouse over to the lowest point of Intraday low, it shows different value on Daily candle pit session low. Is this an issue with IB data or SC bugs?
2. Does the SC heat map work with IB data 20 levels market depth? It used to work fine and then suddenly it stops working. (note; downloading icon happens seconds earlier and nothing to do with missing levels that happened hours before)
3. Is delayed data an issue of IB or SC settings? I get filled at a structure before the price goes there.
4. How do you guys overcome the daily log out and in of IB at 8:45am? That is one of the most crucial time to observe the market.
1. This is an IB problem. I use SC data for this reason.
2. ?
3. IB settings. You need to subscribe to realtime data
4. You can change the time for logout under Settings -> Lock and Exit (in TWS). I usually have it set to logout after hours and then keep changing it.
