i Havent trialled Updata as of yet but seems like its more focussed on strategies as i went through the list.
As a charting platform are you happy with it?
What are the things you like and dislike about it? your experiences with the platform.
I also use some Gann tools/studies and astro tools does it have any of this?
I would say that charting is comparable to other software like Ninja and the like. I use it mostly for backtesting and i like how the charts look and feel.
I don't know much and haven't used Gann tools much, but i have made a screenshot of the 3 quick tools incorporated in the Charting platform. Not sure if i positioned them correctly but you get the point
I use them specifically for point and figure charts. as Ninjas P&F charts are totally inaccurate. Updata point and figure charts are second to none. They also have a layout feature and template feature that lets me scroll through charts in no time all. I do all my trading through chart trader in Ninja and continuum.
Thread is a bit old, so hoping my query will arrive ok. I also use Ninja 8 and Dorman and was intrigued about your comment: Ninja P&F charts not being accurate. Has that been rectified, in your opinion?
Am very interested in UpData's P&F charts, and have the same question on data feed. Plus, how would you rate Updata's upkeep of their infrastructure, newer versions (do they update often and are the updates stable). Like you, I'd use Ninja for trading but Updata for P+F charting.
The software is only for rent, you can't buy it. The P&F charts are extraordinary you can use boxes based on linear scale but on log scale too. Do believe they are unrivaled with the log scale P&F. No surprise because the technical brain behind Updata used to be Jeremy du Plessis. He founded Indexia which later merged with Updata. He left the company and started as a consultant.
The number of other indicators is more one can handle. Updata used to code the indicators each month mentioned in S&C but decided to no longer do this. You also can use almost any datafeed you can think of.
