THIS THREAD WILL BE FOR THE PRIZE "A LIFETIME LICENSE TO NINJATRADER TRADING PLATFORM." WE WILL BE GIVING AWAY ONE OF THESE IN TOTAL.
As mentioned in the main thread here, our 1-year anniversary is this June and to celebrate we are giving away over $4,000 worth of prizes!
nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) owes its success in large part to you. Over the past year, you guys have contributed great content to the site... and in that spirit, we are going to ask you contribute just a little bit more in order to win this prize!
To enter the drawing, simply post a reply to this thread. Important: your reply needs to be creative! Don't just reply with something plain or basic. There is no particular topic that we are going to specify for you, but the prizes will be awarded based on the creativity of your reply to this thread. In other words, the better your reply is, the more likely it will be selected as the winner. Please don't ask for guidance, we are leaving this up to your judgment and asking you to be creative!
Eligibility and rules:
- You must be a registered member (it's free, it just means you've signed up and created a username on our site).
- Both new and existing NinjaTrader customers are eligible. NinjaTrader will not refund any payments you have already made, however if you are an existing customer you can upgrade your current license to a lifetime license for free through this prize, or you can receive a second lifetime license in addition to the one you already have.
- You may enter only once per prize/thread (once for this exact prize). You can enter to win the other prizes in the other threads as well, but you can only win the exact same prize once. It is possible that you win more than one different prize from more than one thread.
- There will be no substitutions of prizes. If you do not wish to accept the prize, it will be forfeit. The license is non-transferable.
- The moderating staff at nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) will select the winners. Again, the winners will be selected based on the creativity of the reply. In the event of a tie, Big Mike will make the final decision. Big Mike has the final say over the outcome of the drawing and the awarding of all prizes.
YOUR ENTRY (REPLY) MUST BE RECEIVED BY JUNE 25TH 2010.
WE WILL ANNOUNCE THE WINNERS BETWEEN JUNE 26TH AND JUNE 30TH.
First guy in wins? Hey, I know better. And yes, I know this is not going to win the creativity award but 2 points to contribute: 1. futures.io (formerly BMT) is a great site, full of helpful folks willing to answer questions across a very wide array of topics (from totally beginner, never traded and don't really even know the terminology to relatively advanced data feed questions, broker comparisons, etc.) And for this, I am grateful. 2. There is so much to learn from watching price. So much effort goes into finding indicator combos or tweaking existing indicators to find the perfect trade setup. What I often want to suggest is the following: take a month, remove all the indicators from your chart and simply observe your market of choice. Only 1 market and only 1 chart, sans indicators. At the end of that one one month, my premise is that you will be much farther down the road to your trading objectives than had you spent that time tweaking indicators or reading forum posts about a setup that someone else is using. Thanks for a great site.
Big Mike’s Day Trading Forum (NYSE code: futures.io (formerly BMT)) makes a startling debut at NYSE. The stock listed at $28.55 against its maiden offer price of $10 has seen frantic buy orders since then. Big Mike, the man behind the show thanked all the members of futures.io (formerly BMT) for the successful listing.
Market speculation is ripe with rumors that Gordon Gekko, who has just been released from prison for charges of insider trading, has been a major buyer of the futures.io (formerly BMT) stock. Spokesperson of an alerted market regulators, StockWatch said “they are keeping an eye on things and no acts of greed will be tolerated”.
futures.io (formerly BMT) a garage start-up, typical of any internet companies has grown leaps and bounds in just a year of its existence with a membership base of more than 5K active users. With its unique free-donation/elite economic model, futures.io (formerly BMT) has break-even in the first year itself, unlike its peer who takes years to even generate its first dime. Several heads of states from Afghanistan, North Korea to Venezuela has shown keen interest in this economic model of futures.io (formerly BMT)’s and is actively seeking the co-operation of Big Mike so that they could emulate this economic model in their countries too.
Unlike other forums which have turned into garbage dumps of chit-chats, jokes and personal assassinations, futures.io (formerly BMT) has maintained its purity, thanks to its band of active moderators. futures.io (formerly BMT) has been a nirvana for thousands armature and pro programmers/system developers. Raymond Deux, founder of NinjaTrader LLC congratulated Big Mike and the member of the futures.io (formerly BMT) forum on this occasion and said “futures.io (formerly BMT) has played a big part in educating the trading community and has been a key partner of NinjaTrader”. It is to be noted that futures.io (formerly BMT) forum has been a major source of the “non-supported stuff” of NinjaTrader.
There was a dude named Big Mike.
He ran a forum on trading,
that everyone seemed to like.
He often talked about keeping a journal,
as if you followed his advice, it could be considered market raiding,
and if not your account might as well go down the urinal.
Soon his forum marks the anniversary of one year.
Time flies, as in fifth gear.
As that time gets near,
think its time we all offered him a beer.
Here is to Big Mike in year too,
and for those of you who,
do not keep a journal, boo on you.
So to draw this saga to a close,
hopefully will not be beat for a ninja license by a nose.
Consists of long hours of keen observation of the market. Keep it simple, keep it clean, gain experience and confidence over time. You start by watching the chart. Take notes. Name repeated patterns. Get familiar with them. When you can see them quickly and know their names then start trading them. Range charts are unique. Very few traders use them. Very few traders make money. Very few traders focus on price, the tape, volume. Small consistent wins make you money. Once in a while you get a big winner. Whoopee.
Trade the trend, fade the trend, trade a sideways range, scalp it. Whatever fits you and makes you comfortable is what is right for you. Find a strategy you can trade or create one of your own.
Read, read, study, study, practice, practice. Concentrate on your strategy and when you are ready (after thorough testing) stop looking for anything else, stop buying stuff, stop attending seminars, stop reading forum threads, stop all interference and distractions and start to trade. Trade for money. Trade as a businessman. Trade for yourself. Consistency is more important than anything. It all starts with becoming consistent. You can fix consistent (wrong) actions. It is almost impossible to fix erratic behavior.
Eventually, you will have to fly on your own, or crash and burn. Trading is not for everyone.
If you find out that it is not for you, that is great. It is no reflection on you or your life. It is not personal, you did not fail. It is OK to just stop. You may not be wired for this. So, find something else you are good at and/or pursue other avenues of investment.
