NT8 works on DirectX with SharpDX performing the rendering. It uses the GPU ......graphics card.... to process the rendering, not so much the CPU. I'm assuming you upgraded your graphics card as well? I'm using an i7 but I've found, due to feedback, a high correlation of memory leaks due to using Nvidia cards!.....me included! NT is saying it is a DirectX application problem and it's basically out of their hands......
@futuretrader ....out of interest, what graphics card are you using?
Also....is anyone using onboard graphics (eg. Intel) and having these issues?
I am on NT8, now, but the Market Replay data for NT8 seems to be inaccurate and I am limited to the Strategy Analyser in NT8, which I distrust, intensely. If anyone could chime in with expert knowledge on Market Replay data for NT8, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks
I'm using the onboard graphics - I'll probably get a card (nvidia) because it improves Photoshop processing, but I really don't see the need for a graphics card with NT, depending on how many monitors you're running of course.
It's the i7 7700K chip, which is supposed to have significantly improved onboard graphics, with an Asus Prime Z270-A motherboard.
I find NT8 not ready for primetime. IMO it should still be in beta. I have converted my NT8 indicators and strategies and the code is very clean but have multiple issues some related to memory leaks.
I have put a pause on all things NT8 until they fix issues on their end. Problem is who knows when that will be. So many things to like about NT8 but even once current issues are fixed I will stay with NT7 for a while. Hard to trust it being so buggy especially with autotrade stuff.

I haven't used either of those Playback or Strategy Builder.
With Playback are you using historical, recorded or downloaded? If you like I can record some data for you just to see how it reacts with data from perhaps a different source. I assume this recorded data will be somewhere where I can get at and send your way but not sure.
It's downloaded and thanks Ron, but one Playback issue I solved, the other one with Jigsaw I want to check with NT support as I saw something odd in the log which I saw before being discussed in their forum.
If you're interested in the Playback location here it is
On the subject of memory leaks keep in mind that NinjaTrader is a C# application, and thus doesn't get memory leaks in the traditional sense of the term. Memory is managed by a garbage collector that deletes objects when they aren't being referenced anymore. However, you can get instances where you think the object isn't being referenced anymore, but it actually is. A common example would be some sort of database pointer. You keep a global reference to it so it's always referenced, and won't be garbage collected.
That's the case with some of the drawing objects. In my code I have the using() statements for those.
If you have a specific indicator that consistently causes a memory issue like this I'd love to look at it.
I have also run on my live trading machine with very different specs and another machine that is not dedicated to trading all have same issues so I don't think it is hardware compatibility.
