Hi folks,

It is a convention that some futures option is quoted in a fraction of cents. How do you handle these prices in your excel spreadsheet?
I am working on calculating the Theta at a portfolio level. This requires to add up all the Thetas of each position. It is easy for futures options like gold, silver, etc. However, it is difficulty with Grains, etc soybean, corn, wheats.
I have a soyben option position that has a Theta of "0.00 2". Basically I need to convert this "0.00 2" string to point decimal then times "Per Point" and "number of contracts". How do you convert "0.00 2" to decimal string?

Many thanks for your inputs.

Best Regards
David

Any quote in fractions has a decimal equivalent.
Calculate your theta with the decimal equivalent, convert back into fractions if needed
