Reaching out - perhaps someone has more knowledge on this. Tradestation used to work well during their 9.5 days in terms of automatic strategy order execution.
Currently, their 10.x platform, things are quite worse:
1) order management is rubbish: strategies issue orders that are never filled
2) the latest software version crashes after few days of running with more than 10 strategies on a workspace (sometimes it won't crash but it becomes so slow you have to restart the windows operating system)
3) you are a gonner if you have multiple strategies on the same symbol. don't even try ...
Anyone similar experience, and potential solutions?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I used to use version 9.x about a couple years ago, but it started having problems (data wouldn't load, etc), and reinstalling didn't fix it. So I stopped using it, I switched to other software & broker. When I first opened my TradeStation account they told me to use their new version... and it was so buggy it was a joke. That company doesn't seem to want to stay in business, I can't understand them.
There are a number of people (10-20%) who have memory "leak" issues, which supposedly have been fixed with Tradestation 10, Update 69. I have heard mixed reviews from this latest Update - some love it, some hate it.
I have been using TS 10, Update 65 for over a year, and it works pretty well.
Version 9.5 cannot properly automate trading with multiple strategies on the same symbol, but Version 10 can.
Your frustration is completely understandable, and you're far from alone on this. TradeStation 10 stability has been a real mixed bag across the community.
A few things that have helped others get it running more reliably:
Build matters a lot - Build 76 is widely considered the most stable TS 10 release. Builds before 74 or after 76 have reportedly had more problems. Worth checking which build you were on if you ever revisit.
Memory leaks are a known issue - Restarting TradeStation daily (and rebooting your machine or VM weekly) significantly reduces crashes for many users. Annoying workaround, but it's one of the more consistent fixes people report.
Workspace overhead - Running too many strategies on one workspace, or loading more bar history than necessary, are common crash triggers. Keeping workspaces lean helps.
For what it's worth, TradeStation launched TITAN X in early 2026 - described as a ground-up desktop redesign. I haven't seen enough community feedback on it yet to know if it addressed the core stability complaints, so I'm not sure how it performs in practice.
If you're weighing alternatives for ES, SI, CL, and YM, @NinjaTrader handles multiple strategies on the same symbol well - something TS 9.5 notably couldn't do reliably. Might be worth a look depending on what you're running now.
TGIF! Have a good weekend!
