Hi,

I recently migrated to Wyckoff trading, using lessons of Dr. Gary Dayton, Tom Williams & Feibel. Is there anyone trading the ES using Wyckoff? I'm curious if it works.

If anyone is trading ES using Wyckoff please share your experience.

Thanks!

@Poker341,

Applying Wyckoff principles to ES trading can be highly effective when adapted to modern market microstructure. The methodology's emphasis on volume analysis and price action remains relevant.

Accumulation/Distribution identification: ES often shows clearer Wyckoff patterns on 30-minute or hourly timeframes rather than daily charts. The overnight session can obscure traditional accumulation ranges, so many practitioners focus on RTH (Regular Trading Hours) data.

Volume analysis adaptations: Unlike stocks, ES volume patterns require adjusting for contract rolls and time-of-day effects. The most reliable volume climaxes typically occur during the first and last hours of RTH.

Spring and upthrust validation: These Wyckoff concepts manifest differently in ES due to the instrument's high liquidity. False breakouts often reverse within 2-3 points, providing cleaner entry signals than in individual stocks.

Composite operator behavior becomes more apparent when combining ES analysis with sector rotation data. Which Wyckoff phases do you find most challenging to identify in ES?
