I'm test driving TransAct through Infinity.

I'm not liking the DOM much (the disappearing depth kinda throws me off, and haven't found a way to link it to the charts, the SC Quote Board has spoiled me) BUT it looks like I can't open any SC DOM, either on the chart or the Trading DOM. I know they work from an old chartbook I had from a regular Sierra demo, but I can't create a new one.

I sent Infinity an email asking is if this was normal, but it was after hours so should hear from someone tomorrow, but thought I'd ask here, too.

Can anyone verify whether this is normal for the TransAct version of SC?

Thanks!

Brent

Per the rep, the only DOM that can be used (besides the chart trading DOM, which I got to work by watching one of the Infinity youtube vids on "Trading from the Chart") is the TransAct DOM.

I have the rest of the demo to decide whether I think the free Level 5 is worth the price of the limited DOM.
(although, my SC DOM IS working from an older chartbook ...)

The issue with the numbers disappearing is very annoying but you get used to it. Unlesd you are trying to scalp using the book the DOM is fine. But if you are trading using the dom primarily you may want to consider other tools, like BookMap (not available on TransAct yet, but it's coming).

Chart Trading DOM works good, especially if you combine it footprint, volume profile(both included on Infinity's version of Sierra) for full picture of book+order flow.
