NVS 490 is DVI only I believe, and insanely expensive (~$400) plus a dual-slot solution.

If you have DisplayPort monitors, go with AMD/ATI cards. If you have HDMI monitors, you either need adapters or nVidia cards. I wouldn't recommend adapters personally.

The Dell U2412M is a DisplayPort monitor and I recommend it highly. Then you can get an AMD FirePro 2460 for under $100 on ebay, and that will power 4 monitors on a single card, and is single slot and passive cooling.

Mike, why don't you recommend adapters? Are you satisfied with the Dell monitors? Do you think they are worth the extra cash? I was going to go that way but I saw a deal on ASUS in May and bought them instead.

I believe my impressions are listed multiple times in this thread.

I like these new 29-inches LG monitors with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,080 and 21:9 ( LG's 29-inch EA93 is the world's first 21:9 ultrawidescreen monitor, launches this month in Korea -- Engadget ). Hope the price will be under $600.

The Dell monitors are excellent, I bought two of them and connected them to my laptop. I use a Encore USB to DVI adapter so I can use all three monitors at the same time.

Anyone here tried the 6 core intel processor yet ? I am literally within hours of ordering all the parts to build a new pc , I love how quiet and Feng Shui my laptop is connected to my 36" main screen but its time to get past that . I have some noise sensitivity issues and may have to built a sound cabinette for it to be able to be near it while I trade. I would build a one around a quad core but for only a few hundred more you can 1/3 more hp so to speak. I dont think a high end video card will help Ninjatrader be any faster so I will probly just get one that has the least amount of problems based on the New Egg reviews. Just wondering what anyone had to say about the 6 core ...

Thanks Quantismo...

As long as you don't backtest a lot CPU power is of no concern. So if you are a discretionary trader and the computer is a dedicated trading machine it's an absolute waste of money. My I7 hardly ever goes above 3-4% during trading. And I am running quite a few charts...

Hi guys ,

i d like to ask you what you would say about this card .... Newegg.ca - ASUS EAH5450 SILENT/DI/1GD3(LP) Radeon HD 5450 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card

and by using this cheap card , would it be posible to run two of them in one PC , with or without SLI or how it is called .... and what consumption it would have together . buying two of them can be cheaper than buying one expensive one , but there mignt be pros and cons .

Thanks

No clue. But do know now if you run out of memory you're screwed (and you will), so look for a motherboard that supports state of the art memory expansion (32Gbytes as far as I know).
