lol. you are saying do not trade anywhere from 7 minutes out of every half hour to 7 minutes out of every hour, as most days average between one to two news stories per hour.
this can be easily backtested to see if it holds water. just need to exclude xx:55-xx:01 and xx:25-xx:31 of every hour and see if it improves trade results or not. I do not trade CL so defer to your experience but I tested something similar on the ES and found that in fact the reverse happened, by excluding those periods of volatility I lowered my returns more than I lowered my risk.
?? sorry i am just trying to understand what you are saying. if this is not what you are saying perhaps you can be specific and provide specific examples of news events from the previous screenshot I posted that you would not trade the CL for this event.
forgot you also said to listen to who is speaking and then not trade during their speech. again i don't understand what speeches I am listening to, is it every single news event on the forex factory? is it during those 10am conferences meaning it's not always 5 minutes before and 1 minute after, it really depends on the length of the conference?
yes and no. Yes to your times for this week and and no since it change every week with changes for economice release #. Also this week there was the Beni' speech to congress that keep me out and Friday Sec' of treasury testimony at 10;30.
Those are the times that I do not trade, you can go and do whatever you like.....
