Seems like this has a bigger impact than the Greek turmoil, for the European economy which is
already not in top shape and we are currently still in a QE program for another year...
The future numbers will be interesting, so is the evolution of the € from a fundamental point of view...

In a nutshell, VW group (which includes Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, and Porsche) installed special software to defeat emissions testing in millions of their cars since 2009. Basically they pollute like hell until emissions hooks up their testing device and then the cars run "clean" to pass emissions. I own a VW and love it, but this looks very bad for them.
edit : diesel motors only

The firmware in the injection system has some code in it that allows it to
Detect that the car is being tested... The engine then goes then in a special
Eco mode that allows it to pass environlental requirements, but then you
Don't have the power...
In normal mode seems those engines do not conform the specs nor
The legal requirements
This is going on for many years
Several types impacted
Massive recall...
Vw put asside already 7 or 8 billion USD
Ceo stepped down
Clash actions will be all over the place...
Only the tip of the iceberg
The share crashed
But i am thinking on economical impact....
This is potential serious...

Because it reduces the performance and gas mileage. I have heard it phrased that they decided they could either make "a clean car or a fun car," and that they chose the one that would sell more.
Then they had to fake the clean part for the regulators, but turn it off for the drivers.
Bob.
