Hi all, I have been spreadbetting for a number of years in the UK so have no experience whatsoever with data feeds. I would like to start building orderflow/footprint analysis into my trading. I would like to focus primarily on the Eurex markets (Dax and Bund).
What would be the cheapest option for access to Eurex data? I am confused by a lot of brokers pricing on fees/commissions/data - we don't have this in the spreadbetting world as all the costs are in the spread.
I plan to use the data feed to paper trade (must be live data not sim) and build an orderflow analysis process. I could continue to spreadbet while doing this until I am happy to lodge enough into a futures brokerage to trade direct.
I have demoed ninjatrader but couldnt find anything on their site regarding Eurex data fees. Also, Im not sure if its a good idea to have a US broker if I will be focusing on Eurex markets.
Open a small account with AMP. I think they will literally open an account for $100 (but put more in to cover data fees, etc - $500-$1k). You'll have a choice of free platforms (I'd suggest paying for Sierra Chart package 5) and you can then get Eurex data at 20EUR/month. Probably the cheapest method for a good quality platform and data (CQG or Rithmic). Alternatively sign up for Sierra Chart directly ($35/month) plus their own data feed (c. $20/month plus Eurex @ 20EUR/month).
The best way that I describe data, platforms, and brokers are like putting a stereo system together with different components. You can have a stereo system which has all the same parts as a brokerage that owns its data, software, and accounts. However, you can put components together based on your preference where platforms allow different data feeds to run through their software, and then you can choose your broker based on your trading needs. We can supply Sierrachart and then hook it to different data feeds based on your needs.

$23 per month (assuming your non-professional) for Eurex data fees.
Disclosure: This communication is sent to you by NinjaTrader, LLC, a software development company which owns and supports all proprietary technology relating to and including the NinjaTrader trading platform.
I sent you my direct email, and please feel free to reach out.
We can set you up with Rithmic or CQG for your execution using Sierrachart for your order flow and footprints.
In my opinion, they have constructed it well with the different settings that you custom to your own trading.
As @binaryduke mentioned, we can get you level 5 if necessary.
Thank you,

Thanks for the responses. I've found a broker in the UK that will let me trade my SIPP (UK pension). I won't be diving into that straightaway but need to find out which platforms they provide/allow. Sierra is not on their website so I'll contact them next week and see what they can offer.
