Futures at home on PC and Laptop with a wired connection. This hard wire connection is a must since these are day trades.

Options and stock trades through phone/tablet because they are longer term plays.

Like @bobwest, I trade at home with a 17-inch laptop with all the trimmings, to include a whoppin' 27-inch monitor ;-), network cable to the DSL modem; still on NT8 v8.0.24.3, (they'll pry Windows 7 Pro from my cold dead fingers) ... functionally equivalent to a (older) desktop. We occasionally travel, and the whole setup goes with me, 'cept for the cable and modem (I stoop to wireless while staying with relatives ).

Just one monitor? I specialize in NQ/MNQ, and the more I trade, the less I need in the way of gee-whiz $2K indicator packages ("just 2 ticks"), etc ... stock indicators are fine if settings are right, less is more.

When I used to trade options on thinkorswim, the cellphone came in handy to monitor and adjust spread positions. Scalping futures on a phone would make me very nervous.

This is a really interesting poll.

I was surprised (and pleased) to discover that I'm apparently not the only person slightly nervous of Wifi and cellphones, for trading.

I'm also surprised to see that so far there hasn't been one single person clicking on "From school", because I thought quite a lot of college students tried to do a bit of trading (maybe mostly spot forex/CFDs, unfortunately, through undercapitalization?) while studying(?).

Always hard-wired, always at home, with the door closed to eliminate distractions, after the dogs have been walked, fed, watered, so that I have my mind totally for myself and able to focus.

I also use wired mouse and wired keyboard.
