I have an update for the RSqueeze TTMS indicator I put into the NinjaTrader indicator download section last month, I tried to replace the existing zip file but was unsuccessful in doing so. I did update the supporting entry comments to explain the version change / fix.
Should I make a new entry in the download section for the new version ?
I changed the name of the zip file to reflect a new version number...
but the old file is still being downloaded.
I extended the base RSqueeze indicator with the addition of the TTMS squeeze style. All of the original squeeze styles (Bollinger, PBF, CounterTrend) are still available in the "SqueezeStyle" drop down menu.
Exported using NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.21
Change …
The filename does not (can not) change unless you involve me. But the contents of the file can be replaced by you, by simply editing and uploading the new file. I am guessing you didn't check the contents. Others replace files all the time without problem.
You will want to drop me a PM or if there is a thread for your indicator then make a post linking to the update after you update the indicator changelog description, and I'll send out notifications to those who previously downloaded it.
I downloaded the new zip file from nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) and imported it and everything works fine. So as noted by @FatTails what we have right now is the new indicator "RSqueezeV2.cs" file inside the old zip file name "RSqueeze_TTMS.zip". I can live with that because it will enable legacy users of the indicator to compare the original RSqueeze.cs with this new significantly revised RSqueezeV2.cs version. They can be run together on the same chart for comparison purposes.
So if that is ok / acceptable protocol , I will leave the download file as is for now.
Zondor has sent me additional code optimization recommendations via PM which will take me a little time to work through and implement. In addition there appears to be a math error in how the Gaussian Filter is being used by this indicator, it appears to be accumulating a rounding error on each incoming tick, I have not broken through to a solution on that. So there may be one or two more updates to the indicator before we put it to bed. Any further discussion on these outstanding issues / concerns I will take to the originating thread here ...
I recently 'found' RSqueeze and it seems that it will work very nicely for me in combination with Stochastics. My problem is that I don't like to use something that I don't understand. I do understand Stochastics but haven't got …
The good news here is the TTMS and BBSqueeze code is working well in this new version. The outstanding issues center on the Gaussian Filter related algorithm used by the much more obscure and less well known PBF and CounterTrend squeeze types.
I use RSqueeze and I'd like to compare the new version. Do you reccomend straight download from the above link or will that change what I know and am familiar with?
Dan
The new download should not affect your existing RSqueeze indicator in any way. Once imported into NinjaTrader, you will see a new indicator RSqueezeV2 in your indicator list, just add it to your chart. You can have both indicators on your chart in separate indicator panels for comparison.
