This indicator plots the up/down limit prices for grain futures, using the contract rules and the previous day's official close.
It works with CMEGroup/CBOT regular & mini-sized futures for Corn, Wheat, Rough Rice, Soybeans, Oats, Soybean Oil, & Soybean Meal
Grain price limits are set based on the previous day's official close. But for grains the previous day's official close is set by the Pit Committee, it cannot be calculated from intraday data. This indicator gets the official close using daily bars, which aren't plotted but are needed for the calculation.
This requires that your data provider use the official daily close for its daily bars. IQFeed and Kinetic do. Interactive Brokers does not (IB's daily bars will give the price of the last trade). If you want to use this indicator with IB or some other intraday data provider who doesn't provide the official daily close, you can first connect to Kinetic (free for daily data), then to IB.
Near the expiration of the contract, when the limits come off, nothing is plotted.
This indicator will require editing if CMEGroup changes the contract rules.

This is a Grid trading algo that sets levels based on the tick size, grid step, and grid size. This algo may be profitable with different settings depending on the instrument. I have released it here so it can be tested, modified, or improved into something better. It's very simple the code is simple and clear. I also will include a Grid Levels indicator so you can see where the levels are at.
This is not a NinjaTrader indicator but rather an Excel spreadsheet. I created it a long time ago and thought it might be useful to share.
It will help traders to let them see how they can grow their accounts over almost a one year time frame.
There are 3 sheets, Inputs, Details and Options (see the tabs at the bottom of the first page).
On the Inputs sheet there are 6 different cells with blue backgrounds for you to complete.
They are all drop-down lists that are activated by clicking the cell and then the down arrow.
Choose Contract - either ES, GC, NQ, MES or MNQ
Initial Number of Contracts to Trade - a value from 1 to 10
Net Tick Target Per Day Per Contract - a value from 1 to 100
Initial Account Size - from $3,000 to $20,000
Increase Contracts by 1 after What Increase in Account Size - from $3,000 to $20,000
Pay Yourself How Much Every Friday? from $0 to $5,000
At the bottom of the Inputs sheet you will see the initial results and below that the results after every 10 weeks.
If you click on the Details sheet you will be able to see the weekly results for almost 1 year.
Each sheet is protected. The password is charles after the late Charles Cochran from Inside Edge Trading.
You don't need a bunch of oscillators and fancy indicators. Try this for a week next to your favorite setup and you might be amazed how simple and clean your charts could be.

August 1st, 2017 08:24 PM rosasurfer Repainting can be fixed by adding the following two lines:
167: GW_TriDiffslowD[n] = EMPTY_VALUE;
171: GW_TriDiffslowU[n] = EMPTY_VALUE;
August 1st, 2017 07:47 AM rosasurfer Looks great. But it's repainting and the TriDiff calculation of the currently uploaded version looks broken (the golden
line which is the slow MACD does not match the line in the image).
