Displaying Individual order entry bars for multiple Bracket Orders
When placing multiple bracket orders, NT8 averages the price of all orders and a single Order entry bar ( for all orders combined) is displayed at the average price while the stop loss and target are created and displayed correctly at the right price. I would like to separately track and manage each active order based on the Order entry. Is there a way to have NT display the price at each order was placed?
TIA
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
NO !!! In my own work with a complex Order Entry and Analytics Strategy, I needed to have
a LIFO accounting, which requires that each "position" be independently represented in the
software model, so that I can see how my accumulating partial profits are working against
my open drawdown; but that's an incredibly difficult task. I do UNMANAGED Order Entry to
achieve all of this, and separate fast Thread queues to do Order submission, etc.
Data structures representing a "Position" which has an Entry and Exit price; and handles
Order status callbacks, etc.... Ya gotta code it all yo-self !! Sad, but true...
Having done all that work, over 18 months or so, it's fabulous to be able to semi
automatically manage dozens of Position Orders within an overall Aggregate position,
taking partial profits, controlling cost basis, for as much as half an hour before i eventually
come "flat" again....
I haven't bothered to draw my Targets on the chart to which I attach; since it's not that
critical for me; but I know I could somehow do this if I wanted to.... The brokerage derived
connecting lines which NinjaTrader draws are, unfortunately, the completely misleading FIFO style, which is only Clutter for my own style of trading.
[EDIT] look at the rubbish that's drawn on that trade sequence screenshot attached. My
system did it all LIFO, but those crappy lines are matching with FIFO, exactly the issue
you're highlighting !
Hyperscalper, Thank you very much for your response!. That must have been a lot of work coding that strategy. Very useful. I guess I will have to live what NT provides (for now) and hope that they bring this feature in version 9.0...
