Request for MACD with option to use different MAs for fast & slow line.
I’m in search of a unique Moving Difference (MD) indicator tailored for advanced analysis. This indicator should enable the utilization of a broad spectrum of moving averages, encompassing all those available in NinjaTrader, such as the Double Exponential Moving Average (DEMA), Simple Moving Average (SMA), and Exponential Moving Average (EMA). Ideally, it would permit the flexible selection of moving averages for comparison, for example, allowing me to choose an EMA with a 20-period setting for the fast line and a 30-period SMA for the slow line. The core feature would be its capability to visually represent the difference between these two selected moving averages as a histogram directly on the chart. Furthermore, I require the option to toggle the signal line on and off according to my analysis needs, emphasizing a straightforward display of the histogram that illustrates the variance between the chosen moving averages without additional distractions.
I think simply using the MACD indicator that is already on ninja trader, and changing the parameters of the inputs, could do the trick. But I am not a coder, and I would appreciate any help with this.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Hi, the Multiple MACD from Lizardindicators has most (all?) of what you need, I think. It's not free - you pay $200 for their suite of indicators - but it might be cheaper than having someone code it again for you. You can't toggle the signal line as far as I know, but you can set it to transparent. Hope this helps.
Hey guys, I thought many of you would enjoy and benefit from this thread. My intention is to have each poster reply and describe in as much detail as possible an indicator they want created for NinjaTrader.
