My previous request for adding audio alert in divergence may be too much since the divergence signal keeps moving till fixed so that might be too many alerts. Then please just add an audio alert for DT/DB with sound file selectable from my hard drive since I have found many profitable trading opportunities from DT/DB for day trading from your award winning PAS indicator. Without the DT/DB alert, I have to keep looking at the PC all the time to wait the DT/DB shown up and my eyes are hurting quite a bit.
I have been testing an idea that involves the duration (in bars) of a swing and adjusting the period of a moving median according to that durations value. I have been doing this study by hand and it is very tedious. I was wondering if
there a way to dynamically adjust the value of a moving average based on the the swing duration? I know that the PAS
has this feature (count duration in bars) and I was wondering if the period of an MA could be automatically adjusted to that number?
Another idea I am also testing is using the latest swing duration value as a "fast" MA and then adding the last swing duration value together with the swing duration number after that for a "slow" MA. This creates a "channel" that is very dynamic and adjust with the market. I do have some screen shots of studies that I have drawn by hand going bar by bar and adjusting the moving median to those values and I must say that if price closes above or below that line(s) it seems to be a good indication of future direction and trend end. I will post snap shots soon, I just wanted to start this thought and see if it is even possible and go from there.
If this idea has already been made into an indicator please let me know.
Hi, Thank you for this version of Price Action Swing Pro indie.
I downloaded it but when we get an alert: it shows up as a text in the alert box but doesn't have a sound alert?
Could someone supply a sound alert for this indie?
The previous version had a nice ABC sound alert, which I would like to have again.
Thank you again,
Rachel
PS I agree with the prior post about having an audio alert for DT/DB, that would be very beneficial!!!
Thank you again for this wonderful indie.
The chart above was made using a 1 hour session.
Using PriceActionSwingPro 10.10.2012
Swing Relation statistics: a Higher High is followed in 100% of cases by a Lower High. This is wrong.
The chart shows that a Higher High is followed in 100% of cases by a Higher Low.
Swing Length statistics: Calculations are excluding the last HH on the chart. This seems inconsistent as the first LL is counted. Both the first LL and last HH have inconclusive data, but accurate in the sense that all bars of the chart are included. HH has been labeled, so it should be in the calculation.
For example:
Up Swing count = 3 should be = 4
Up Length = (7 + 9 + 9) / 3 = 8.33 ~ 8 should be (7 + 9 + 9 + 10) / 4 = 8.75 ~ 9
and in the case of statistic number of swings = 1
Up Last Duration = 14 should be 36
@aligator, you have to set the "Text offset… " settings in the indicator menu in the category "Visualize swings" and the "Text offset" in the "GomCD" category to different values, otherwise they will overlap.
@davidepalmer01, I can't remember exactly but I guess I did the last update in Q4 2012.
@aqawle, sorry I can't help you with this. Due to several reasons I don't support strategy development.
@nicetrade, I can't promise anything, but maybe in October I'll add the option to use alerts for different things. Until then maybe somebody else can help you.
@Bobo, currently (until the end of this year) I don't support other indicators of me.
@Mashu01, it's good to think a little bit outside the box. I'm not aware of such a dynamic swing-channel-MA but you can go ahead and post some screenshots and if you think it's worth it we'll find a way to calculate this thing dynamical and put it in an indicator.
@Rachel, you have to put sound files in the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\sounds" with the name that you have specified in the settings "File name… " in the indicator menu under the category "Alerts". The default name is for example "ABC_Long.wav". You can simply create your own sound files here . I created mine there too.
@Camdo, I appreciate that you took the time to check the statistics. But let me explain how the statistic works and why the values are actually really correct.
The statistic doesn't include the latest swings, it's two swings back. I did this due to performance reduction to avoid calculating the statistic over and over with every incoming tick. There is no gain in calculating the statistic in real time.
This means in your chart if the current HH at 1687.25 is fix (a new down swing is found) the last HH at 1685.75 is added to the statistic. This is also the first point were we are sure that this last HH is followed by a HL and a HH (this is actually only true for LHs and DTs but anyway).
The HH which is already in the statistic is the first bar in the chart. This HH is not labelled in the chart, but used in the statistic. It is followed by the LL and the LH.
The swing count, swing length and swing duration are than based on the swings already in the statistic and so the numbers shown in the statistic are correct.
Swing Length calculations would be clear if the last HH was not labeled. When the label is placed on the chart, most viewers would assume it is included in the calculations. The chart is a pictogram of the database.
I still cannot make sense of the swing relation calculations.
HH (4.7K) is not included in calculation for "Higher High" with swing count = 1 (as mentioned this is referencing the unlabeled HH on first bar of chart. However HH(4.7k) is included in calculation for "Double Top" and "Higher Low". This seems inconsistent.
The calculation for "Higher Low" has me totally confused with 50% LL. I do not see any LL following HL. How is this derived?
