I don't like vertical monitors myself but could see why that's useful.
3 monitors is overkill for me, I generally stick with 2. Besides, most work desks are 4-6 feet wide and 3 x 23" monitors would already take up your practical workspace.
Best guys on my team use just 1 screen and prefer working on their laptops.
I also think 2 monitors (1920x1200 or similar resolution, because the total resolution matters and not the quantity of physical monitors) is enough in most cases.
You can't "physically" follow more than a dozen of open windows, having more elements to check in real time doesn't make sense IMHO. Unless you're like Kim Peek and able to scan one monitor with your left eye and another one with your right eye, it's not very useful.
update:
got rid of Windows 8.1, did a complete refresh, wiped drive and had an expert install windows 7 x 64. Now running 2 monitors on built in graphics (HD4000) and 1 on the radeon 6450 video card. all digital (2 DVI and 1 HDMI). has room for a fourth monitor on gpu vga port.
guys i saw the firepro card mentioned in this thread and thought if you have any suggestions.
My 2nd trading pc where i typically have Ninja only running is crashing of late. Not sure why ...but i think its due to display problems after getting it to Win 10. It says Display driver stopped and restarted and Pc either Blues or freezes. This was was bought of a Fund who was closing down 1.5yrs back and so has no warranties. It is from Digital Tigers though.
Has 2 Firepro 2460's in there for total of currently connected 7 monitors. There used to be a crash once in a while on Win 7 which was okay but after recently upgrading this to Win 10 there are few a day. Any suggestions?. The typical AMD utility was run but said it could not find much difference. Wondering what drivers are you running if anyone here using the 2460's with Win 10.
would love to explore if any suggestions....before moving to another PC...which will invariably be a laptop.
I have the same card, but i am having an issue with it...
I wonder if you have the same issue...
I have a setup with 6 monitors, if i shut down one of the monitors, then the whole configuration
of the desktop changes, and ninjatrader shuffles the windows around... it sometimes even happens
without shutting down one of the monitors. This make that i'm not so very happy with my
W600 card...
Another issue, I currently use the box remotely.
If all the monitors are shut down, then a remote desktop is 640X480, which is very difficult to do something
if i leave (ask someone to... as i am 5000Km away) to put one monitor, then i can work on the box...

* I've never used the W600 - it's still in the original sealed box.. I've used the 2460 and was planning to add more monitors but that plan is on hold.....
I believe Big Mike has the W600 (or had one) maybe he can comment on your issues..
