Well for me it was a fantastic read because he covers Market Auction theory application in conjunction with pivots. He also discusses candlesticks and how they tell a story from market participants when used at "Key Levels" such as pivots, VOPC's, Value Area's, LVN's, HVN's (Volume Profile). I think you can go to his website and get a preview into his book. The free ebook is not the same as his newly released book though.
curious to get introduced to the "concept" or idea of that pivot indicator that you're looking for, would you be able to share a summary of your own understanding of what it does and how it (should) work? but pls note the "your own understanding" part, i truely appreciate if we can avoid violating IP rights with the book in here,
I started a two week trial of Pivot Boss's daily reports and a 5 day boot camp, which I hope is live trading. I read the book and liked it. That was two years ago so I need to read it again. There are tons of pivots out there in the real world. And, you always see charts with how the price action reacted around pivots. So, they all see to work. I have seen gurus create pivots off the first hour IB and the mid-point of those. That's nothing new.
There is even a site called Pivot Farm where they put together confluence of pivots that create key areas to give you a really significant area to watch, key areas. But, you can also create those on your own chart watching price action.
I once drew my own pivot lines at random and was stunned at how much they seemed to work as a key area for the price to react to. What I am trying to get straight in my head is how to enter a trade on significant, key areas. I think I like the Spring and Thrust entries of Wyckoff so far. I am beginning to see some profitability in my trading using those.
Oh, yes...trend channels are in effect pivots also. Or at least they seem to be to me.
Bottom-line for what I may be trying to say, if you want to understand Pivot Boss, spend $20 on his trial that started today. And, buy the book. It always seems to get good reviews.
If you want the PivotBoss Indicators for Thinkorswim just sign up for the two-week trial and you'll get all the 9 indicators for Thinkorswim included. Hope that helps.
