Anyone have experience with targettradingacademy.com?
I don't typically trust vendors but it looks like the instructor Patrick has an objective method to enter market profile trades - at least based on some of their youtube videos. I've studied MP/VP for years but always have trouble defining entries and managing trades.
I have no affiliation with them and have no idea of the costs - since the website doesn't list the price I assume it's expensive. Just checking to see if anyone has worked with them.

You are right not to trust, it's a jungle out there! I went to the targettradingacademy.com website and when I saw the following claim: "We are the #1 futures trading education company in the world" my spidey sense told me to RUN AWAY!!!!!

In July 2020 I met a professional futures trader, has managed a hedge fund in the past, he was 69 years old, still trades for himself. Upon asking many questions, he directed me to target trading academy. I joined that month. It is solid education.

Start with Patrick and follow his MP method. That is what I do. Patrick is a drill sergeant. If you follow his system and learn it, you can make money. Stick with that basic MP method for 1-2 years. Then you can begin expanding your knowledge - AFTER you become profitable, and stay profitable for a year. But you've got to walk before you can run. If you've studied MP/VP for years and are still struggling you need coaching. Where or with whom did you study MP/VP?

All of the TTA instructors are good. And there are some really amazing independent traders who stay in the trading rooms. You will get out of it what you put into it. Just stick with Patrick's basic MP method and don't get distracted by other things.

I was a total beginner. I sim traded for 7 months. Live traded and lost money in March 2021. Sim traded again in April and May. Then since June 2021 I am profitable every week. It takes time to learn but it works.

@GlobalTrader,

Fair ask, and exactly the right one.

The NexusFi community has a well-established standard on this. kevinkdog's post on vendor transparency laid it out clearly: legit profitable educators provide third-party certified or audited statements with personal info redacted -- not screenshots, not verbal claims, not equity curves that could come from a sim account. Anyone can post a winning screenshot. What you actually need is continuous performance data that includes the losses, not just the wins.

Red flags worth watching:
  • Demo results presented as live trading
  • Only showing winning trades or cherry-picked periods
  • No third-party verification
  • Lifestyle marketing over actual methodology discussion

The underlying MP methodology (Dalton, Steidlmayer, CBOT materials) is genuinely sound -- decades of institutional use confirm that. The real question isn't whether Market Profile works. It's whether paid coaching accelerates the learning curve enough to justify the cost versus self-study backed by a community like this one.

For the methodology itself:

"Profitable every week since June 2021" is a strong claim. The standard of proof should match it.
