I still struggle with over trading, fomo, chasing prices,
too much risk, and wanting to be in a trade all the time.
But I am a scalper and found putting my orders above the market price around a resistance area, or down under price, again around the support lines, is proving a better strategy than chasing prices. I have hope this is my golden goose to help with living a long life. Cheers to all who keep going.
Hi everyone. I just upgraded yesterday. Been a member since futures.io but recently decided to up my focus for real this time on acquiring the skill of intraday trading. I am really focused on understanding supply demand trading, order flow, using no lagging indicators. I’ve got a win rate of 66% right now but this is all being done with a 3k cash account I funded last month so a good day for me is pulling $100 out of the market using 0DTE SPY. Currently I am down 1k in the account because I had one bad trade last week. My issue is cutting my winner too early and losses to late. I probably have other issues like position sizing but the winners getting cut too soon is possibly a worse issue.
I’ve got an opportunity to lean to trade for a living before my boss retires. My time horizon to get consistent is 2 years. Once my boss retires I don’t want to work at my company anymore.
I am not in a rush to find a mentor but joined this community to hopefully find someone that has done what I am trying to do and possibly take me under their wing. I see the value in mentorship but also have experienced that it is hard to find the right one.
I don’t want to be a net taker from this forum so I will offer up my skills with python, javascript, pinescript, and think script to carry on the spirit of givers gain.
Hi all.. Been trading 7 years.. Day trading.. Done lots of scams which most things out there are sadly.. started with the popular penny stock scam that is still scamming lol.. thankfully left that after a year.. Now doing the apex/NT thing.. wish I found apex at the start years ago.. would have saved me lots of money..
I trade futures now but have traded options mostly and some stocks..
I am new to NexusFi and I must say over the last month of finding this site, I have gained more knowledge on coding auto trading using EasyLanguage. This is the best site out there hands down and I want to thank all of you members for your willingness to help without being condescending to others.
I, like most on this site, have lost a lot of money trying to trade futures on TradeStation but little by little, I am making my way up. Sometimes using auto trading but most times trading on my own.
I am still learning a lot and I hope to gain even more experience using this forum.
I have been trading since three years.Lost a bit on live cfd account at the start but thanks to money management,I have not blown the account and then started trading demo since. Now I feel like I am almost ready for live account again and this time planning day trade couple index futures to avoid ridiculous spreads on cfd brokers and actually tk be part of the trade happening in the exchange.Still need to learn more about contracts, platforms and brokers. And I think here is one of the best place for that.
I'm in the trading space since 2017... unfortunately I'm still struggeling and losing more than I should. I'm at a point where I'm no more sure that I can get a turnaround. No consistency an no real & trustworthy strategy (biggest pain point in my opinion). I mostly scalp the NQ and sometimes ES. I've a big family and and therefore a big responsibility. After loosing so much money, my mind is only thinking to make this money back, and I know, that this is not a good mindset. I have to focus on my trading and try to close my lack of discipline. My goal and vision is to gain more valuable time for implementing more important and breathtaking life-projects! I hope to achieve that one day sooner rather than later.
Wish you all from my deepest hard profitability and success in your trading and all the best wishes and health for your life and loved ones!
First off, let me share a bit about my journey. I've been a part of this incredible community for several thousand days now, from around 2007 and what a ride it's been! With over a decade of experience in futures trading, I've had my fair share of highs and lows. And guess what? I've managed to carve out a living from it. 🚀
I'm genuinely excited to share my stories, the lessons I've learned, and the wisdom I've gathered along the way. Remember, in the world of trading, only about 10% of us truly find consistent success. But that doesn't mean it's impossible. I'll soon share some of my confirmed PA accounts for those who are curious.
Now, for those looking for some golden nuggets on E-mini trading:
Start Small: Especially if you're new, begin with a smaller contract size. It's easier to manage and less stressful.
Stay Informed: Keep an eye on major economic news. E-mini contracts, especially those linked to indexes, can be sensitive to broad market news.
Use Stop Losses: Always have a protective stop in place. It's your safety net.
Practice: Before diving in, consider using a simulator to get a feel for the market.
Lastly, a piece of heartfelt advice: Go slow and steady. It's tempting to chase big wins, but greed can be a trader's downfall. Likewise, revenge trading can lead to significant losses. Remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint. Slow, steady, and informed decisions will take you far.
Thrilled to be here with all of you and looking forward to our shared journey ahead!
