Sorry guidoisot but i am also not a programmer. I was just following the instructions provided with PriceActionSwingPro for adding custom indicators. The indicator you provided is unknown for me
I made a change in the indicator and now it finally looks to work. here it goes.
instructions:
copy this files to ....\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\Indicators\PriceActionSwing folder then go to edit ninjascript and compile.
once you load the PriceActionSwingPro indicator in the chart, you have to select to show divergences on SMIAMB indicator. (the parameters are the ones that come by default on the indicator and are not editable , so don't bother on the numbers shown in "parameters 1,2,3".
Hi @pepbosch
thank you very much.
It seems to work well also with SMI indicator
However it appears that when I change bar type of the chart the PASpro does not show up again.
For ex I first loaded it on a range bar chart, then I changed the chart into a 60 min bars one but the PASpro did not show up. Do you have any idea why this happens?
The same happens if I change instrument.
@dorschden I also saved the settings in a chart template, but also in this case when I load the template the PASpro does not show up. Is there any particular setting I should look at? Or do you think the PASpro needs to be fixed about this?
Thank you.
guidoisot.
The chart layout shown on the attached screenshot video has been saved with two PASpro ver. for NT8 indicators that should be indicating divergences (one with MACD indi the other with SMIAMB indi). When I load such chart the divergence plots do not show up; they do not show up neither if I reload the chart template, nor if I “reload ninjascripts” … nor if I refresh almost everything else I can see on the workspace .... After various blind attempts I found out there are two possible ways to get back the divergence plots on the chart: one is removing the 2 PASpro indicators and then reinstalling them again, the other one is checking the “swing extension" option on the properties of PASpro indicator. However these are just temporary adjustments, because in both cases when I change instrument, or if I change timeframe, or if I change the type of bar (time, range, tick, …), or if I shutdown the platform and then reload it again, the divergence plots disappear again.
Has anyone else had same type of issues with this indicator?
How did you solve that?
Does anyone know of any alternative NT8 divergence indicator ?
Thank you
you need to increase "days to load" in the data series, or decrease the divergence parameter 2. btw it's always good practice to check for any errors in the log. that would have given you a clue what's wrong.
are you using last Dorschden update or is the one that was converted from NT7 from somone else. I remeber first release of NT8 from Dorschden had this bug , but he released a new version with this corrected
the only update so far was to correct the brush properties. this problem here is not a bug imo. when trying to access data when there're not enough bars is kind of difficult
I've been trying to get the GomCD option working in price action swing pro for NT7. After uncommenting everything it said to uncomment, it compiles fine. When trying to use it, however, the cumulative delta on the swings seems to be random when compared to the GomCD indicator.
I also tried downloading an already uncommented file somewhere in the middle of the thread and had the same issue. Anyone using it successfully?
@Silvester17, @pepbosch, thank you for your replies.
I was using 50 days of 4 range bars. After increasing the lookback period to 90 days both divergence plots did show up. However as 90 days appeared to me as too many days to load each time, I have then changed the timeframe to 40 days of 15 min bars: now MACD divergence plots do paint, but SMIAMB’ don’t.
@Big Mike , with regard to issues, on any given indicator or strategy, which have already been discussed earlier on FIO I would suggest, if possible, to devise some kind of link feature, for example one based on mandatory tagging of the subject of each post, so that on the download page of each indicator one can then find , easy and orderly, a chronological summary showing quick and short info on the subjects of what has been discussed, modified, suggested, …. about each (or just about the most downloaded) indicator.
Thanks again and Best to all.
I'll fixed the code in a way that the divergence should work no matter how many bars are loaded. I have sent @Big Mike the updated version almost two weeks ago, but he didn't came around to upload it here in the forum until now. I can't upload a new version myself to the Free Section in the download area.
