You do not want to look up the settlement price? You don't care about the session times? You are not aware that there are two-day-sessions with a common settlement date? But you want to display the correct floor pivots, Camarilla pivots, Fibonacci …
In your introduction post you mention that you started reading Naked Charts... were there specific materials, i.e. books, websites that you feel were significant in your learning?
I figured as much... I have been slowly working towards getting rid of indicators myself and was just curious if there was some specific material that Laguna came across that really helped her. Thanks for the input
Just heard about your group. Have joined others before and seen them grow too big or someone started tearing them down by fighting and rudeness. Trading is a really lonely job and I am OK with it most of the time but a little human interaction helps. Hope I can give as much as I get here.
I listed myself as an options trader but I did that because I use mostly options. I don't know how to classify myself really. I am more of a longer term trader in that I try to buy a stock I like at a good value and then I sell options aginst it to make my money. I am not that bright but several years of loosing money has taught me that you won't make anything just buying and selling stock. At leas I don't. But selling a strangle or a straddle on a stock you like will make you money. But its still hard to stomach on days like today when the poor old Japanese are struggling to survive and our market is down big. Thanks for the invite!

I was reminded by the blue i that I have been here 126 days but haven't posted anything, so here goes.
I have been trading my IRA at Fidelity, Tradestation, and Thinkorswim. I am only with TOS now, as I find their interface very intuitive. My focus has been equities and EDFs (IRA regulations) and recently options, since TOS allows IRA holders to trade them (No naked calls, short sales nor margin accounts).
TOS has a decent chat room hosted by Shadowtrader.net, and I have learned a lot from them.
I am interested in Prodigio trading setups, your success or failures. I am also interested in learning thinkscript.
Thank you for this forum , I trade e mini futures, as everyone knows this can be a lonely business, so its nice to have a place to share ideas, lots of reading to do and will post again.
I've been a member here for a long time but never posted. I've been learning about trading(eminis) for the past 5 years. Have only taken a few live trades or enough to know that I didn't know what i was doing.
Trading is one of the most difficult endeavors I've been involved in. I understand now that psychology is just as important or perhaps more than having a good strategy. I'm hoping to spend more time here and learn from those who have actually succeeded. Thanks Mike for providing this forum and a wealth of information. Regards,
Searched this Forum on recommendation from someone at MultiCharts and joined up as looks like best place to come to both learn, gain more experience and eventually help others in their trading journey.
Been trading manually for about year and a half and now looking to do more backtesting and optimization using software instead of laborious and error prone manual techniques.
Need to come up learning curve quickly on EasyLanguage and MetaTrader programming in order to move forward on this and improve trading strategies.
Looking forward to the future and to gaining a richer trading experience in all ways including helping others where can
Good Luck and Good Trading to all
Lee
PS Thanks for all who have invested their time and hard work in creating and providing this Forum for use by all
Like many of you trading has become a passion. Been at it since 2001, reading dozens of books, watching dozens of videos, attended dozens of webinars and not to forget got scammed a few times and most important of all, meeting a fraction of traders who are really good humanitarians and who truly want to help.
I keep my mind and thoughts open but guarded and i believe that generosity comes to those that have a big heart.
Passionate about Trading, cycling, kids and family. This are my driving force to date.
Trading is like cycling, you can't just rush it and become better, it takes time and patience to develop the skill and rythem until you find what works for you w/c in cycling translates to building your aerobic capacity.
