Mike, this could be a great service for people who want to share their trading. I've followed several journals over the years, past and present, that I'd love to watch them in action once in a while.
Here's a thought. There may be traders here who don't want to go "all the way" and host a regular room -- but they'd be happy once in a while to share their screen, thoughts, techniques -- for example, when they've just opened an interesting trade.
Two questions about this:
1) will your framework allow for that "once in a while" situation and make it reasonably easy for the host trader to set up?
2) for that situation, I picture "subscribing" to that trader, then getting an email or other notification ASAP when they go online and start sharing. Is that built into your framework, some automatic notification when they start sharing?

would there be limitations for a refund? Say I have a subscriber that has been onboard my channel for 6 months....if they wanted a refund would it be limited to 1 month or would they be refunded the total for 6 months?
Open to being more involved but when I saw this it peaked my interest. Not sure if anything will happen but I'd LOVE to be on a live chat with a FEW like minded ES traders through the day.
And as for the 'open to more'...seems like some great possibilities. Well done,
Craig

This looks like something new and interesting.
Have you developed (or are planning to develop) integration tools for smooth interaction with your platform such as those Telegram/ ShareService addons in Ninjatrader8 that allow the "owner" to share charts live with no delay instead of only audio and delayed(=manually entered) charts? That would definitely be required for different trading platforms
Thanks for this new initiative.
This brings up an interesting question about real-time vs. delayed data charts.
I am familiar with a previously active NexusFi member who has a small group of friends and fellow traders who share screens during the trading day. They're using a screen sharing software, so charts are all real-time, which makes collaboration and sharing opinions and trade ideas simple and helpful. No one is the "leader," just some friends trading in a virtual space, all seeing the same screens as they happen.
I don't know how this is done elsewhere, but it sounds like the Market Chat participants would simply share their screens, so it would be real-time. If so, it does not seem that a trading platform add-on would be necessary.
Is this the case?
Also, does this software allow all participants to share screens, or is it strictly one to many, content-provider to content-consumer system?
Bob.

1) Sure, that is no problem. If the room is not free, we will just need a clearly defined schedule to set expectations of subscribers.
2) As an individual trader looking for rooms to follow (traders to follow), I am still working on how to inform them of the available options. But expect a list with some details. Once you join a room (or two or three) you'll be automatically subscribed to content updates made in that room -- ie a push notification on your phone, or an email.
The standard refund policy will state it is only for the first billing period (30 days). If a trader is subscribed six months in and then asks for a refund, the standard would be not to approve because we never stated that as an option. The intention is instead to offer a no questions asked 100% guaranteed refund for the first billing period.
That said, there is some room here to improve. I want to err on the side of protecting users. So for example of the leader of the room stopped participating in the room, then obviously we would expect people to cancel their subscriptions. These types of requirements will be laid out clearly to content creators up-front.
At the end of the day, if a user requests a refund via their credit card company, I do not plan to contest it. It is better to refund that person and move on. So there is always a chance that six months in, through no fault of your own, someone asks for a refund. But I believe this to be a very limited exception and not even close to a recurring problem.
Any further feedback or comments please let me know.
Any content creators (room runners) -- please also email [email protected] after signing up on our waitlist, so we can talk to you about the creator point of view and note your interest in becoming a creator.
Absolutely. Picture where you could have a couple of live videos showing other charts of whomever you are following, and then you could choose to just listen to their audio, or you could choose to read the posts in their room. It's going to be extremely flexible for a user to setup just the way they like it.
For casual creators, we aim to make it very simple to create your room.
Our screen-sharing is entirely HTML5 powered, so will work launched by any web browser. I've tested it with NinjaTrader and there is no delay or problem. Recording is done by our server, so it will not consume extra resources on your system. Our server also handles all the traffic, so with 1,000 people in a room, you still only have to "talk" to just our server and we'll do the rest to send that out re-broadcasting to the other 1,000 people.
That said, I aim to have tighter integration within Ninja, so any NT developers can feel free to email me so we can discuss such a project.
Exactly - screen sharing will be easy. You'll be able to select one tab within your browser, the whole browser, one chart in Ninja, your entire workspace in Ninja, or even your entire Windows desktop. It's all quite versatile.
As for whether or not multiple video broadcasts will be allowed simultaneously in the same room, that is technically possible but at this point I cannot give you a definitive answer on how we will allow or permit that.
That said, as a creator, you only have to "upload" your chart to our server and we will handle all the encoding, recording, and broadcasting to your followers - so the system resources for your CPU will be extremely low.
