Thanks for reporting @xplorer. Please help with this:
Are you able to reproduce this on-demand/at will? If yes, I'd like you to do a test for me:
1. Click New Posts from top.
2. Confirm problem exists, you are seeing threads you read already marked as "NEW", but that have not had new posts made within 1 day.
3. Important: Don't click on the thread. Do not open the thread.
I need you to send a screenshot of this, so I can see exact threads and then I will track down the thread ID and also look at your user ID and compare the activity to see what the two database tables are showing.
Please make sure you don't visit the thread in question that shows NEW, just use your best guess/memory to ensure that in fact you did read it already since the last post was made, and that the last post is >1 day ago.
I'm feeling great. Sure it's been a hectic week with the migration, but this needed to happen and will be the right platform moving us forward to all the next new things and improvements.
While it's true that FIO is always a work-in-progress, it's never meant to be a "beta test" for our users. When there is something to beta, I do it separately and invite people to test. It's never my intention to subject the entire member community to a "beta" or non-production ready/capable server or setup. So, I apologize to everyone that there has been some downtime here and there this week as we get things sorted out.
Unfortunately, in this particular case, due to the complexity of the shift -- there were simply too many variables to properly test everything. At some point I had to just move the site, and then fix whatever was broken. That point was yesterday
I did choose Friday as it's the slowest, as are the weekends, to try to minimize disruption.
I will share some new stuff in my main life thread later today on a more personal level:
As some of you know, I will be moving to Ecuador soon (next 6 months or so is the idea).
For many years I have had a desire to leave the States and pursue a simpler and more relaxed environment with great weather. I documented some of this over the …
Known issue: live update is broken in some cases where edits are performed causing an infinite refresh loop of that specific post. Case in point post # 722616 -- to be used as example and fixed later.
OK @bobwest and @ratink and others having the New Posts problem.
I just added a few no cache exclusions to our reverse SQL proxy, please tell me if it fixes the problem, and please report any other strange behavior regarding anything to do with searches -- as this was a very complex edit.
Please continue to report any/all problems, everyone!
