Hey Brian, welcome. You have come to great forum, everyone so willing to help. We have spoken a few times this is Jeff from Jay's room. Nice to have you here.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Hello to all, good to be with you, I have been a member for a short while, and am still working very hard on trying to understand. I like the S&P and will stick to that untill something happens to discourage me. I am sure that I will only do better by being here. Thanks Mike for the opportunity.
Howdy fellow traders, c12345 here, I am new to this forum, although I have been around trading for a few years, using Ninja trader, and Trade Navigator, mainly trade ES, QM,
I like trading 10's and 30 yrs, but also the ES (at this time-YM, NQ more in the past). I am also taking to the 6e. What I like about the indexes and interest rates is to look for a leader on either side and within say interest rates or indexes. In the past the link between bonds on stocks was well established and seems to have returned. It isn't always as simple as bonds going one direction and stocks the other. I like to watch the ES, YM & 5 & 10 year notes and also 30 yr bonds. One may lead among them. Other relationships apply between them and stocks. Also, you can watch the auctions for reacations. Others watch premium, etc. I do use indicators although the person from whom I learned to trade came off the floor. He will reference a long term moving average, but basically in uses "levels" of his own & market flow or "the book." Floor traders have the advantage in that they remember levels and what reacted where and keep it on hand. They can trade all day without a chart, just a screen filled with TT DOMS.
I've moved to using my own levels and looking for other ways to improve. Market Profile is excellent and it not only gives good levels but also can visually show internals. I use some Fibs for retracetment and targets. (Sitting here long ES at 44.75 and getting tired).
I work f/t so I trade some a.m. and late (way late, 3+ a.m.) because I'm too stubborn to give up if I think it will continue. I am always look to improve and noticed Sharkey's Journal and that's what promted this intro. I thought some of the aforementioned talk about intra-market relationships might be of interest. And I want to look at his method in action, but it takes time to implement new things. I also want to read PRACTICAL TRADING APPLICATIONS OF MARKET PROFILE by Tom Alexander Practical Trading Applications of Market Profile | Alexander Trading) as he might add to my MP interpreation. (no I'm not affiliated nor ever watched more than free info on his sight...I just cut & pasted to save time).
I like trading and enjoy it more all the time. I'm not a really consistent trader but I've been doing it in different forms for a long time (bought some call options around 1979 through a broker/friend in NYC. I went fishing liiterally and Iran took American hostages and that was that).
46 is short term resist in ES and I want to make a point. The reason I brought this trade up again is that I know some who like this time of day when you can make a trade without a lot of monkey business. I tried too late to catch the bid at half so gave up a tick, otherwise I would be out. Large trades are all long.

Hi Mike,
I really enjoy your site. However I am clueless as to how write Ninja programs. I hate to be just a sponge but I am just a neophite. I don't even understand what many of the programs and indicators on your site do, let alone how to use them!! But they are facinating and I am sure it took much skill and effort to construct them. Thank you very much for the opportunity to use these and maybe someday I will be a worthy contributor. Mike
Thanks for letting me in, this seems a very nice community.
Trading for over 5 years now, with ups and downs, making small consistent money, and I'm not losing any more.
Keeping my losses down, and sometimes letting a runner run, is for now my plan.
I need help doing that, and need also to keep trading bigger, trading now not more than 2 cars in YM and ES. (still scary because money was running out last year, was a very bad experience, now I have a nice job, and I can have more time and breath).
My charts are Supertrend, plus a HMA, simple as possible.
55 tick,150 tick, en 1 and 5 minutes.
