I think those a good reason and hope it works.
Your appealing to people's ego's. For their desire to be more popular, to rank higher etc. As such I'm not sure that you need to be more obvious than it already is. I suppose you could have "Don't see your name here, then post more and better" banner!
Possibly related to the arrow key paging improvements you did, here's an issue I noticed:
When editing profile fields, the arrow keys refresh the profile page instead of allowing one to edit the field text.
Also just feedback on the tradingview widget, I personally block the tradingview domain because their embedded widgets seem to constantly make requests to their servers like every second...most folks wouldn't notice or have any problem with that but thought I'd mention in any case. These pings would multiply among several open tabs too.
Thanks for reporting, but I am unable to duplicate it. When you say profile fields, you mean going to UserCP -> Edit Options? The keyboard binding only occurs when a thread is on the screen.
Please tell me specifically where (url) so I can resolve.
It's a websocket, extremely lightweight (responses are less than 1KB). For comparison, to load this changelog page it's probably 20,000 times as much data. So, I honestly wouldn't worry about it.
It happens in About Me on my profile when logged in -- when I click on any of the pencil icons to expose a text field to edit a profile section such as location or biography... and press left or right arrow key, the web page re-navigates to the same profile URL, (so it's not exctly a refresh.)
I'm using Safari v13.1 on OS X.
Thanks for the tradingview info as well.
Edit: It happens whether you're in a text field or not. It just seemed like it was related becase I used arrow keys to edit the text and then the page reloaded before I was done editing.
Both Fed Chairman Bernanke’s remarks yesterday and President Obama’s speech last night about his jobs plan; combined, failed to reassure the market that a solution to the country’s economic woes was at hand, and the …
With time, I will also expand this feature to work with external (non-FIO) links. But this will require a substantial amount of increased work, so for now, I am launching the feature to work only with FIO links to threads & posts. I will try to expand it to work with Downloads/Indicators as well, in the future.
Please give me some feedback, and please report any problems here. This is the most complex and ambitious project I've done to date, so there are bound to be some bugs I have not yet identified. So, if something looks weird, please let me know here in this thread.
OK, thanks -- I have duplicated it. I will work on a fix. It's so strange that it shows up there, but I'll take a look. For a quick fix, if you need to edit something, just hit Ctrl-A to select all text, then start typing the replacement text. This will allow you to not use arrow keys.
I worry that while this feature will be amazing in some situations that overall it's just going to make threads longer and longer and your going to be paging through looking for the actual meaningful posts.
