I'm 65 , have been trading for 15 years on and off, but never at an level I was pleased with
I'm here to learn, but hope something I post will be a help to others
My interest is TA of all sorts, but know I need to speialize and create a pattern of study each day that works to produce winning trades
Hobby is a study of Gann, grin, not sure that is a help with trading, haven't really been able to make EW work for me, but have spent a lot of time with it.
Live in East Tennessee USA and spend most of my time watching the markets.
Thanks Mike for hosting the forum, off to watch the video etc and learn the site.

Joining futures.io (formerly BMT) today as an elite member, really like the education materials as well as some thought provoking threads and indicators. The best things on futures.io (formerly BMT) are not free, but $50 is a ridiculously low charge for the knowledge gained.-I'm gladly paying it.
If I had one book to learn trading trade from it would be John Murphy's Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets, and if I had one forum it would have to be futures.io (formerly BMT).
I am happy to find this fine community and resource. As an 11 year trader, I have been to numerous useless sites featuring egos and nonsense. I day-trade the ES and live in Dallas.
Well I finally am introducing myself.... only after 157 days. I am gaining a lot of valuable info from Big Mike's and still have much to learn. I have done the circle thing where you try one strategy, then another, then another, then back to the original again - I'll write it off as part of the learning experience. I love trading though and hope to expand it into a way of life.
I just joined Big Mikes. I am looking forward to sharing with this group of great traders. I am using Think or Swim swing trading futures contracts. I was just introduced to Renko bars and am interested in seeing if that will fit with my trading methods. I am also learning how to program custom strategies, but failing miserably so far..
I am Maranel from Czech Republic. I have gone through reading articles, books and building my own trading business plan. Currently I am spending the most of time with paper-trading. The reason why I have joined futures.io (formerly BMT) was looking for the recommendation for the broker. But I see that there are plenty other interesting information.
I am interested in futures, e-mini Nasdaq 100 and I hope that I am going to have some valuable information to share soon.
Like everyone else i did lose alot of money, mainly cause i treated this as a game and depended on luck.. after reading and working many hours i realized its pure discipline, you can have the best setups in the world.machine scripts etc and can not make money. simply because you are not doing your other job in controlling your feelings..
Dont jump around, stick to a simple plan and build on it.. we are here all playing against each other and against ppl with deep wallets.. so dont get swallowed, its not an easy task or a job.. if you are beginner don't quit your job or get a job until you master this trade and till then consider to have this as your second job not first..
Hello people
I am Avi from India. I am an absolute beginner- both here and at trading. I came up here after BM`s kept popping up for many of my search results . After some cursory glances, this place looks much more friendly and focused than many others out there. I hope to learn and, in time, help others as well.
New guy here too! SIM trading for about 1 year, real money for 4 months now. Had a pretty ugly 25% drawdown but stabilized after I collected my emotional self and started to recover recently. I posted the most valuable lessons I learned in this thread if anybody is interested:
This thread is not about the HOW (charts, systems, blah blah). It's not even about the common mental traps we traders setup for ourselves (indiscipline, too much risk, over trading, etc). In this thread, I intend to show you the WHY we, or anybody …
