Prior day ended up with a long bullish grind.
Globex session found a long bearish grind down.
Trade1
I saw some buying pressure after a triple bottom so I placed a Buy Stop at a place that looked good on
the 5min chart. The 730 news was just about to break, so this was it bit of a gamble. Price almost took
me out, stopping one tick short. In risky situations like this I just leave my default stop of 10 ticks in place.
Price hit my new profit target perfectly
+18
Trade 2
A perfect PB trade to my eye.
I was able to trail the stop a bit on this one and raise my target way up. I bailed on the first major PB.
+22
Up $ 378 ... close enough to daily goal.
Up $ 1172 for the week, exceeding the weekly goal.
I lowered my Profit target a bit while testing in FF mode in replay last night.
I found price stalled before 20 ticks
quite a bit. So, I lowered it to 18. Three full range bars on my 6 range chart. This seems to happen often.
Stops are still PA dependent, but I avoid any trades that risk more than 15 ticks.
Daily targets are still $400
Stop Loss still $200
I Like the 3 / 3 rule also
3 trades with normal stops
3 trades with BE +1
I'm very close to going back to live.
I will load up one more week of data and if I don't make anymore changes, I'm a Live Doctor.
Thanks buddy... but we all know about sim. It's easy to use all your brain power when your not flustered
or angry.
I love the football analogies. These are just practices. The games await.
That's why, this time around, I am not bored with practicing my brains out. When I go back to live, I want
pulling the trigger to be completely natural.... like, oh, that's that old set up again. It usually will do this now.
The TF has definite patterns. I haven't found those in the CL yet. But I haven't spent much time with CL either..
We'll find out soon enough. The key for me is to be completely OVER prepared this time around. Another week
or so of screen time without any changes can only be a benefit.
Friday was bullish while the overnight session saw steady selling.
Trade 1
It looked like price was turning around, so I placed a buy stop in the usual location to confirm a
move up. Price was not confirmed on all my charts and I payed the price of a stall.
-6
Trade 2
I reversed my thinking and placed a sell stop below the previous swing low on the 5min. chart.
Price filled me and reached my PT before I could even touch my mouse, let alone move my PT
further down.
A PB entry short that took off again and filled my PT instantly.
+18
Up $292 for the morning.
Three normal trades were used so I'm out per my rules. I can't bet that the next entry will
give me the opportunity to use one of my 3 allotted BE+1 trades.
I'm not sure what these huge moves were at 8am on a Monday morning. There was no news according
to my news release print outs.
Prior day saw a big sell off followed by a 50% retracement starting at 1230pm cdt.
Globex saw initial selling then steady buying starting at 11pm cdt.
Trade 1
PB entry that stalled at the resistance line. Bailed after the third attempt failed
+10
Trade 2
Immediate re-entry short ... tried something new.
BE +1
Trade 3
Inside Break (PB) at the open.

Trade 4
Re-Entry of trade3
PB
BE+1
Trade 5
Break out short on crossing of MA

Up $390
I have made a few tweaks to the Risk Management Portion of the show.
Targets are now 15 ticks.
Stops use the same method of PA dips and peaks - no risk greater than 15 ticks
Daily profit goal is now $300
Daily stop is the same $200
I am trying to enter a bit quicker than in the past.
As soon as I see price stalling or turning, I am entering on the break of the next 5min bar or area cluster.
In the past I would wait until the break of a major SR area or MA to go counter trend. With the smaller targets,
I think I can catch a few of these before I get in trouble by a channel formation or a continuation.
With trend entrys will remain the same with my continued focus on PB entrys.
No changes to charts.
Just trying to optimize my money management running 1 car in the TF
Prior day saw the same old sell off followed by the 50% retracement starting at noon. Overnight saw steady buying
Trade 1
Entry short, probably a bit too late.
Exit just before the Equities open.
BE-1 with slippage
Trade 2
Failed inside break long. This PA is eating my lunch. I need to be more careful
when there are no trading opportunities in the pre-market.
-12
Trade 3
A strong PB caught my BE+1 on the short side.
BE+1
That's it for now.
down $106
I have several trades remaining per my rules and have not hit my daily stop.
I will be back later to see if I can work my way out of a slow day like this.
_______________________________
Resumption
My goal was just to fight myself out of the hole , so I tightened up my targets a bit.
Trade 4
A strong PB caught my BE+1 Strategy
+1
Trade 5
The selling pressure just wouldn't lift so I re-entered short and caught a few ticks before it
stalled at an SR line
+9
Trade 6
Price reversed with strength so I entered long and got out at the first hesitation.
+8
Up $46
I'm pleased with myself for cutting my losses and switching to small ball so I wouldn't
have a losing day. It looks like a good trend is forming but I'm out per my number of trades
taken rule. I took all my allotted trades today. 3 BE+1 and 3 normal Profit / Stop's
The lesson learned for slow starting days like this is Break out entrys are tough.
It's best to judge the trend and enter on a strong PB. (Hard for me to do)
Prior day was in a tight range, which explained my troubles trading it.
The Globex session was sideways with a bullish tint.
Trade 1
As soon as I tuned in I saw a crossover of the MA's on the 1 min which, for my type of trading
is a good indicator that a few ticks can be gathered. How many is gauged by the other charts.
I was in short on the continuation of a down move after a bit of a PB on the 5min.
I was able to slide my target down to more logical area - the next SR line, but bailed after I saw
a hesitation at 20 ticks.
+19
Will continue later... I have some farm work to do
Prior Trading day saw a slow bullish grind up, probably due to the long Easter weekend coming up.
Globex saw a continuation of this trend into Monday morning.
Trade 1
Entered on a break out short. Exit at stall when I couldn't take it anymore.
I stayed in for almost an hour...
+10
I'm shutting it down for the evening. I 'm a bit tired.
....will resume this trading day replay later. Paused at 7:44am 4-25-11
