I upgraded our mail server with the latest patches around 3:30am this morning (6 hours ago). Well, something changed with the permission structure in our spool directory, so all email sent between 3:30am and right now was lost and not sent. It cannot be recovered.
I am very sorry for the missing DM notifications and thread notifications during this time.
Please let me know if there are any other problems.
Hey @Big Mike there is a loop maybe or something is wrong, cause a couple of times today already I get a message that mail cannot be delivered because it bounces. Re-enabked it with no effect. Nothing changed on my mail, normal Gmail account.
I'm always interested in hearing feedback about email, because it's super important for our community and I want to always make sure everything is working as intended.

Now, let me look at our ESP:
Things get interesting, right? But now I remember reading a ton of headlines about Gmail being down. So I mean it was like, for real, DOWN. It wasn't even accepting emails from other servers, as you can see from this actual bounce message we received from Gmail:
Basically, you see Gmail says nope, no such mailbox. Not just down, but no such mailbox. That's what triggered us to send you the Direct Messages saying there is a problem.
Please let me know if it continues past today.
There are probably thousands of people this happened to today on FIO. I am not sure how easy it is for me to undo those automatic unsubscribes due to bounces, ugh. I may have to send send a mass email to explain the situation.
Also, I just looked at the ESP's blacklist, because you can see your email address was automatically blacklisted by our ESP after multiple bounces. It looks like Mandrill has more time on their hands than me, because they reversed those blacklists -- only a dozen or so people are on our list, mostly aol (ha!).
The change mentions that Discord links are disallowed due to abuse by vendors that use Discord chats to bypass our site rules, and pitch to our community. It was not an easy decision, but one we were forced to make collectively as moderators.
goodmorning flash player is discontinued and will no longer work one of the reasons i signed up was to access the videos on the webinars ..... and i havent been able to look at a few vids because of the flash player issue ..reading the site seems like this has been an issue for sometime now ..do you plan on addressing this issue anytime soon ??
What I would recommend is, if you have one or more videos that you'd like to watch name them in this thread. They tend to get prioritised over others in the backlog.
Change made today to fix a long existing search problem. When users tried searching for a phrase such as @bobwest (ie, literally searching for a user mention) in the advance search mode, it would result in a database error.
