I am back from the dead. Well, I haven't been posting but I visit Futures.io every day and browse around. I see a lot of cool new stuff for Ninjatrader 8 and I don't own a license for it.
But I do own a license for both versions of Multicharts, PowerLanguage ( which I have fallen in love with ) and the .Net version (not fallen in love with).
I want to release some tools I have developed or hacked together from other codes. My coding ability in easylanguage has really come a long way since I started
I want to release a grid trading strategy I created that is a good solid start for an Algo. Also, I developed a lot of new indicators some of them that enhance the footprint charts on Multicharts.
I also Developed Velocity bars that are similar to the ones the late Okina shared with us. But with a twist and a new indicator called TaiChi that is a different take on the venerable Supertrend indicator.
Also, I don't trade cycles anymore because with cycles there are expectations and I have had some big losses with cycles.
I just opened a new account to trade Micros. And I will trade Velocity, Momentum, and Orderflow using Multicharts.
Here is the GridTrader Algo for you guys to explore. Use it for backtesting or trading or hacking the code. I also Included an Indicator so you can visualize the grid levels.
Here is the Velocity OrderFlow for Multicharts. It's meant to be used with Footprint charts.
It provides the bid volume, ask volume, delta, and duration of the bar in seconds.
If the duration of the bar is beneath a certain threshold it will plot an arrow over or under the bar
depending on if the signal is bearish or bullish. This is the Velocity arrow. I use Volume charts or contract charts.
But it could be used with tick charts as well. I included an indicator called TaiChi it's a good indicator.
It's a modified supertrend with no extremes just the middle line.
Test it out, I just coded it in a day so it could have some bugs.
Today I start trading again, I will be trading my own account. My broker Optimus futures helped me set risk parameters on my account for example I can only trade 4 micro contracts at a time and can only lose $200 dollars max per day before my account is locked. This is what I consider defensive trading and will help me preserve my account and help me trade another day. This is all possible through Rithmic.
I feel confident and if I lose $200 dollars in a day it's not a problem. I will be using footprint charts with the footprint indicators I developed for Multicharts.
Also, I will be posting my daily results here for three reasons record-keeping, accountability, and to be more social.
It'll be interesting to see how you get on. I'm currently trying to unlock the secrets of the MES with Gomi's footprint bars, but I played around a bit the velocity bars that Okina used in his system and what you've cooked up sounds similar.
Hello, Mike thank you for the feedback. Today was my first day trading in a long time. I think the footprint with all the bells and whistles can be information overload. It didn't do as well as I thought I would. I had a higher percentage of losers than winners. And at first, I was set on scalping but then once I settled in I was swing trading and I felt more comfortable with that. Tomorrow I am not going to use the footprint as you can't zoom out to see the big picture and I only have one monitor. So tomorrow I think I am going to use 5-minute charts. This will be my setup for tomorrow. Five minutes, Lowpass filter, pivots points, and murrey math oscillator.
