That is a pretty good deal!

Is there any advantage to 2 copies?

I guess it will never be at $997 again...

If you wanted to trade on one machine, and do development work on another. I only have one MC license, so I'd assume one instance could be running only.

I have 2 instances of Tradestation, for example. It is pretty nice...

Probably though most folks don't need 2 copies.

Thanks Kevin
That’s what I thought too.
What do you use MC for at the moment? Or is it primarily as backup?

I am currently running an automated algo in Multicharts that I am trading in a worldwide real money contest (google "World Cup Of Futures contest"). Their broker would not work with Tradestation, so I had to open an account with a MultiCharts compatible broker. I am using Tradestation data to drive the Multicharts chart.

My primary weapon is Tradestation, but I also run Multicharts and NinjaTrader too.

For those interested, the current promotion for MultiCharts is happening now through July 6th:

I don't work for MultiCharts, I just use the platform and just sharing.

Hey @kevinkdog , just to clarify: are you are using the strategy automation engine in MultiCharts, just using the TradeStation data feed? This is how I do it when testing between the two platforms.

Yes, the strategy in running in MC, just fed by TS data.

@vmodus,

Appreciate you sharing this -- posts like these save people real money.

For anyone who missed this particular window, MultiCharts tends to run a few major sales each year. The pattern from what I've seen:
  • Black Friday -- historically the deepest discount, up to 50% off lifetime licenses including the Advanced Strategy Pack. If you're patient and can wait, this is usually the best bang for your buck.
  • Independence Day -- the one vmodus flagged here, typically 30-40% off.
  • New Year -- January promotions, solid but usually not as deep as Black Friday.
  • Occasional flash sales announced via their blog and newsletter.

Best move if you're on the fence: sign up for the MultiCharts newsletter so you don't miss the next one. And keep an eye on NexusFi -- members like vmodus tend to share these deals when they pop up, which is exactly what makes this community valuable.

Good looking out.
