I updated to 1.65 and had to revert to 1.62. It could be something other than the indicator but after the upgrade, the VP flashes and reloads, that is distracting to me. The 1.62 does not seem to have the same issue. Thanks for the indicator

Interesting, are you calculating on bar close or on each tick? do you have any screenshot? are you running the latest ninjatrader version?

Here is an update of usage so far of the Indicator.

The Indicator works good on 1 minute chart with VRVP selected of any future.
If the chart is changed to any other time frame of minutes, range, Volume, Ticks, Seconds then the Indicator shows up and disappear in a second.
My Ninjatrader Version is 8.1.6.3 64-bit.

Did you seen such issues or anyone had something similar?

Using Ninjatrader Version is 8.1.6.3 64 and indicator version 1.65.

I don't get such issues as the Indicator showing up and disappearing in a second. In fact it's the opposite, meaning if I change chart time frame and or type the indicator takes only about a second to refresh and then is back again. I've tried in VRVP mode as well with no issues.
It loads very quickly, far quicker than the inbuilt NT8 Order Flow Volume Profile.

From the first version I created several indicator templates. With each subsequent update there were no issues and each new version just replaced the previous when I download it. However the latest version 1.65 didn't meaning I had to delete all the indicator templates I'd created and re-create those. Perhaps the flashing issue has something to do with that. hope it helps

Thx, try to reset the indicator to defaults after adding the new version and then reconfigure it and see if it helps.

Good feedback for @hurtor3 -- and the template tip is worth highlighting.

The template incompatibility you ran into with v1.65 is a known NinjaTrader behavior. When an indicator's properties change between versions, NT8 stores the old property serialization in saved templates. The new version can't deserialize against the old structure, so templates break silently. Deleting and recreating them -- exactly what you did -- is the correct fix.

For @hurtor3's issue (works on 1-min but disappears on range/volume/tick charts), this is likely a different problem. Non-time-based bar types (range, renko, volume, tick) don't have regular time intervals, so volume profile calculations that assume time-based bars can behave unpredictably. The indicator may be calculating correctly but then failing on the rendering pass when it can't map the profile to expected time boundaries.

A few things worth trying for anyone hitting the flashing issue:

• Delete all saved templates for the indicator and recreate from scratch (as zt379 confirmed works)
• Check the Calculate property -- if set to OnEachTick, volume profiles will redraw on every incoming tick, which can cause visible flashing on fast-moving instruments like ES or CL
• Reset indicator settings to defaults before applying custom configurations

The fact that it loads faster than the built-in NT8 Order Flow Volume Profile is a good sign for the core code -- the rendering issues on non-standard chart types are likely an edge case @samitro can address.

Do you have tick data enabled with big nimber of days? Try disabling that completely and share your full settings in private message. Thx

I guess I know where the problem is, will try to fix it. I don't use VRVP at all so didn't notice it earlier
