Hello
Just joined as elite after I saw some of the good stuff Mike is trying to do.
About 10 years experience in equities-6 as a day trader and 2 years as futures trader. Eventually aim to trade futures solely once volatility picks up a bit. Use candlesticks, volume profile etc
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Hi everyone, I have been searching for a forum like this for me to ask questions and share and discuss thoughts and ideas. It seems like I found one looking at some of the topics adn the community member base. I have a financial degree and I am a physical commodity trader and occasional forex trader - I have worked as an analyst in the FOREX department of a bank, so it became a hobby. Along my carreer path it happens that I find my self in the midst of physical commodity trading and would also like get in the "electronic" trading and put to a test my technical and also fundamental skills. However, what am I concerned with is the contract sizes to engage in the trading, although I have found few "minisized contracts their size is still quite large and the choice is limited. Even though I read few articles about pros and cons I was not able to find a broker who attracts these beggining brokers (or an exchange as a matter of fact) who would have a solution for the small speculators and begginers by either having micro-sized contracts in their portfolio or have micro accounts for these traders - just like you have in the forex markets - this would be a great way that would also eliminate problems of liquidity and slippage, since the broker would use a liquidity of standard contracts traded in the market for these small traders. Can somebody please give me ideas on how to solve this problem? Demo is not a solution, until real money is traded it is not a practice.
Hi, I've earned a living trading the ES for a couple of years, then quit when QE1 happened and went back to my day job. Still interested in trading, mostly futures. I mostly use my own trading software, plus NinjaTrader recently.
I signed up a while back, but don't think I did the introduction.
I algorithmically traded for a few years in the last millenium, then set it aside
to develop electrophysiology monitoring equipment and then
video games. Eventually got a PhD in CS to satisfy my interest in
AI and learning theory. Thought I'd get back into developing trading algos for my
own accounts before I get too long in the tooth.
Using NT7 which has it's quirks - but is a technology approaching magic- compared
to my old software environment.
Mike is providing a great service to the community here.
Thanks! And good luck to all.
I started trading stocks in college but when a friend became a commodities broker I was introduced to futures and I've never looked back! I like the role of fundamentals in futures; I use technicals primarily when I'm in a trade to determine when to get out. I like to follow the recommendations of select professionals I have been able to meet here in Chicago down at the Board of Trade.
I lost my job in 2010 and work for myself from home. Trading is a significant percentage of my income now so I devote time to research every day. I'm always a little stressed until I'm in a winning trade!
just getting back into trading...I am hoping to be able to help others as well as meet new people to improve my own trading skills.
A little history ...have attended a few seminars such as wade cook...better trades etc and am really looking forward to finally being able to connect the missing pieces I need to make consistent cashflow in the market....
I like short to intermedite term trading over all...In and out taking little many times.
I will share more as I go and look forward to meeting people with the same interests.
I combine Astro and technical analysis. Telling others this often brings the response of a lot of Astro questions. Since my family has paid dearly for my absence from them with me studying and running studies, I do not reveal what I do in that regard. What I am willing to share with you about it is that when the solar wind blows strongly investors have a tendency to sell.
I find that by combining technical analysis with Astro I can produce superior results. I am very interested in knowing ahead of time the time and price of reversal points and using that information to benifit my family.
