I am new to thinking seriously about trading, and am quite relieved to find what seems to be a supportive and considerate community forum for like minded people.
I am still in my initial education stages and have yet to settle on a particular instrument, system etc. Also, I am in Australia so time zones are a consideration and I am looking with interest toward the European markets which work well for me time wise.
I have dabbled in swing trading stocks and done ok, but through luck rather than skill. A few years later I found the time to try again and moved to options. Didnt do so well there and my lack of education cost me.
This time around I am attempting to develop a sound understanding of what I am actually doing before I do it, but I am looking at futures as my vehicle of choice.
While it is an aspiration of mine to eventually trade for a living, presently I have to maintain a day job and so I am going slowly, but enjoying the process (with no money on the line as yet).
I am looking forward to learning on this site, though I will probably be quiet on the posting front until I actually have learnt enough to give a useful opinion. I reserve the right to post a few idiotic questions though.
Thank you to Mike for putting in such an effort to create and maintain this forum and to all the members who are willing to share their knowledge and experience with those of us starting out.
I trade daily ES for 5+ years. I would like to share my experience with anyone who is interested. Also I can help anyone to custom develop Indicator or Strategy for Ninja Trader platform C#.
Based in Europe, I am new to trading and am currently testing out various platforms, paper trading only. So far, it has been totally fascinating and I wish I had looked into trading before; I previously worked in the field of information analysis which has numerous similarities with trading as interpretation is key. My current and favourite platform to date is NinjaTrader.
My preferred market is currently stocks, most especially tech, resources and energy which I paper-trade on the FTSE AIM, Tech and Small categories. I also keep an eye on the NASDAQ.
I have been trading equities for around 13 years. I have recently jumped into the world of futures (primarily ES and NQ) and it has been a roller coaster. I am looking to learn more about trading futures (one of my goals for 2013) without blowing up my account. The webinars I have watched already have been fantastic and I look forward to contributing to the site.
Thank you Mike for providing such a great forum for traders all over the world.
My name is Rich and I have been browsing this forum for some time. I decided to join the forum and I appreciate Mike starting such a rich venue of experience from all the traders from all over the world!
I hope I can contribute as well as learn from others.
