I have talked to a number of NinjaTrader guys on the phone. They are no pirates. They need to transport the information to pay the royalties to TT. And they just forgot to encrypt it, because for them this information is not as sensitive as for you.
One question: The guy who started the thread "Is NinjaTrader spying on your trades?" became a member of the EliteTrader Forum on August 31st. And just by chance this was his first post ever. I think we have some experience here with new members that start posting on one specific issue. Usually the purpose is self-promotion or - as in this case - unpromotion.
In my opinion this thread and post was smelly, and that is the reason that is has been removed.
I am saying this as somebody who is not always very happy with NinjaTrader, and loudly thinks about other options.
My opinion is you should form your own opinion There are plenty of users posting and sharing their experiences here on the forum, you simply need to take the time to read them.
Yes to both questions. It's a relatively new function, maybe in the last 6-8 months.
I have just switched from Ninja to Sierra, and adding this feature was the clincher.
Ninja is a memory-leaking resource hog, but Sierra is stable and 'lite' on resources.
Sierra doesn't interface with Zenfire as Ninja does, but they just added a Trading Technologies FIX interface. Velocity Futures offers the FIX engine at $3.60 round trip (ES).
