Hey guys,
The names Mark, currently doing a Masters in Finance and looking at getting into trading so here I am ready to learn the lessons from Big Mike and his band of merry men.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Am a long time FX and commodities private investor. I have been a bit of a "lone wolf" for the past 15 years or so, since I started private investing following a 5 year stint before that on the FX Spot dealing desk of a major British bank. So after 20 years in the markets, I stumbled on this forum a week or so ago!
For those who care to know, I use a pure technical model, hence the attraction (to me) of this community since it looks like there are a lot of like-minded folks on here. I focus on Cable, JPY crosses and Gold, mainly, although I'm trying to construct a model for 10y and 30y Treasuries as well. Basically a trend-following strategy.
I have just joined this forum. I came across it while searching for a review of Nexgen T3 software. I have been trading for around 3/4 years now, I started with forex and have looked a little into futures. I've attended a few workshops, bought different systems, lots some money with PFG brokers etc. I'm starting ti realise that the only way to succeed is to deal read a chart well and follow a plan that has a positive expectancy. I'm still trying but not making much money. I feel that most people make money through education and selling the "holy grail" of systems.
I hope that joining this forum will help me and others succeed in this business. I would love to be free from my J.O.B one day soon. I have a full Ninjatrader license and use IB at the moment. I'm going to fund an account with AMP soon so that I can start trading futures. Although I see that they have filed a law suite against this website. Any other brokers people can recommend?
Anyway, that's all for now. Now I'll just start having a look around the site and hopefully get involved in some good threads.
Cheers
Robert
Hi everyone,
My name is Derrick, I have been into trading for 3-4 years off and on im a rookie by all means and inexperienced. Most of my time has been devoted to reading and understanding myself and the rules that I need to follow. Im at the point again finally after one previous account blowout to start a funded account again. I have my entries and exits in order this time and the way I wanna trade. This site has been a blessing just in the info one can gather from months and months of reading and I just wanted to say hi and ty!
For last three years been studying how to trade from books, courses and webinars
Started out modelling other trader’s techniques.
Courses include: Larry Connors RSI(2), Scott Andrews Gap trading, Courtney Smith Donchian Channel and Inside Bars, many instructors at OTA, Ron Wagner Gap and Breakout trading, and other Traders Expo courses
Now I’m mostly a gap and chart pattern b/o discretionary trader in stocks and index futures
Have interest in Mark Fisher’s ACD Method and opening range techniques
Looking to grow, develop a system and be a part of the community
I am a 29 year old Chinese man from Singapore who has recently decided to take up trading as I have decided recently that I want to get rich on my own effort and not live on my trust fund forever. At the moment, I have 8000 SGD in my bank account and my goal is to work to accumulate about 50,000 to 100,000 SGD in my bank account before starting to learn how to trade. My dream is to make alot alot of money and stay rich through day-trading the stock markets and possibly build and own my own day-trading firm in the future, and eventually write and teach how to trade. I have day-traded only a few times in the past and can be considered close to a total newbie --- This is a lifelong pursuit that I am committed to excel in.
One question for a start :
1) Does anyone know how I can upload a picture onto the site? When I uploaded my photo from my computer, it gave a fail message.
Ah nvm, I got it .... the photo is showing up on the profile picture. Anyway, I intend to be on these forums forever and will be updating my money-making progress through work and trading in the form of a journal for everyone to see.
Steps I am taking :
1) To accumulate 50,000 - 100,000 dollars SGD starting with 8,000 SGD in my bank account
2) Once I have that amount of money, start to paper-trade for a few months.
3) Once I am confident enough , start to trade conservatively and preserve capital (following Warren Buffett's rule --- Rule Number 1 : Never Lose Money, Rule Number 2 : Never Forget Rule Number 1
4) Compounding , Compounding all the way to Heaven (if there is one) !!!
As far as I know you'll need to get an Elite Membership in order to have an Avatar in your profile.

Sweet ... Guess I wont be signing up for elite membership for the time being until I gather the required amount of money to start trading. About 50,000 SGD --- 100,000 SGD should be enough I guess
