What are the comparison's between the 9G Dom and Jigsaw tools. Are they similar products or are they have distinguishable features that set them apart.
Well, I am certainly no expert and I probably use 5% of what either is capable of.
That being said the Jigsaw Stuff is a massive study in Order Flow and the 9G focuses more
on order entry. The "code" for 9G is open, however, and 9G gives you a platform to customize it to be
as complicated or as simple as you like.
I use the Jigsaw "Consolidated T&S" for judging market pace and keeping track of block orders. I keep both Dom's up but use the 9G for order execution because it does not use the NT "AT interface" , allowing for scaling into
positions . I have set up the 9G to be very simple. I have VP set up on both.
the 9G dom is "just" a dom. at least for now. I don't know what the plans are for the future. @1LotTrader might add a T&S (tape) later. that shouldn't be difficult for him to do. having said that, imho, having a dom like 9G, you don't need a tape. it just doesn't make sense to me to look at a dom and T&S.
with the build in volume ladder and the endless possibilities to customize your dom, there is really no need for a distraction like a tape. 9G provides enough information to enter a trade, manage a trade and exit a trade.
again, this is just my opinion and I realize different traders have different needs.
The 9G DoM has been a very welcome addition to my trading platform. As most of you know I am a Price Pattern trader but I also use Price Action to confirm entries and positions. I'm not using the Volume Profile capability of the DoM yet, I may do in time, however with some minor configuration I have been able to display exactly what transacted on the bid or the ask in real time along with the depth. A lot of people think the limit orders in the book represent supply/demand and don't realize that is only part of the story. What's hitting bids and lifting offers is what's really moving the market and I have a really clear view of this. Actually if anyone wants to see what I'm looking at I've uploaded a "Wolfie" spec on the 9G Resource section. It's freely available for anyone to download and use.
Thanks for the comments here guys. I really appreciate it.
@Big Mike , Matt reminded me via PM that I don't have a vendor tag. I completely forgot about it although have been so busy I haven't really been posting here much the last month or so.
If you want to change me to Vendor status please do so. I'm not sure if there is anything specific I have to do. My site is as mentioned on the title. I think last time I mentioned it to you a few months ago you said I should first have a site ready which is now up and running if you want to check it out.
