The "combined result" view in strategy analyzer would be much improved if it could show the graphs, periods and trades tab, as well as be able to export the trade list to Excel for external analysis.
The ability to save and recall everything about a Strategy Analyzer run. I mean save everything, settings, trades, summary graphs etc. This would make it easier to build up information about a strategy and have it on hand for quick review.
Right now after a strategy is closed or a new one started the old one is gone. Considering how long strategy runs can take to complete, it would be really nice to be able to save them. Should not be very complicated to implement either
Play sound after long backtest or optimization jobs, say after running on 500 symbols in a basket, to alert me I can come back to the office. The "estimated time remaining" does not work on these jobs if using optimizer.

Backup / Restore is the most frustrating process / function that is in Ninja, as it has too many flaws to be reliable or useable. This need significant rethink. Here are some glaring disqualifiers significant to want to choose another trading platform (and remember, our objective is to prevent the trader / user from walking away).
1) Restore should honor the time, money and effort a user has invested in the platform and never say that the system restored all except the indicators.
I went back over the log to see the exact wording, but its in that text box pop-up that reports the status of a restore operation at the conclusion of the process. Really the backup master folder is simply a zip compressed file. Logically it should never be subject to question, simply restore in place, however, for some reason, even when in the original state, the platform has no compilation errors, the backup/restore function magically creates them and refuses to re-instantiate those indicators, configurations and charts as they were.
When this happens, all time, monetary and effort invested in getting things just right has been lost and you're forced to start from scratch. This has to stop with the newer NT8.
2) provide some pretest function so that the restore process can be confirmed to work, while the platform is in stable, operating condition.
one should never wait until one is doing a restore process to find out there were errors that were not visible or descernable when the platform was running properly.
one should never be deprived of the net sum of their investment in the ninja platform, without being able to correct the problems beforehand, if there are any problems.
provide some dry run backup/restore process, which will reveal what it intends to mark as an error, before the platform is compromised and lost, while it is still running and functioning.
provide some reliable means of backup and restoration and error detection before one looses their operating environment!
With NT closed a simple Windows manual network or offline copy of the whole Documents/NinjaTrader 7 folder either as a straight folder or as a zip file works well, no need to use the NT backup facility at all as far as I have found.
I used to use a grandfather/father/son rolling scheme, now I just keep them all as storage is so cheap. I have no dependency on historical data stored in NT so I can also delete that too for speed, some might not want to do that.
A simple IT principle I have found over many years is to backup at the highest or outermost level and do it often so long as the elapsed time is only a fraction of daily run time. I noticed someone had mentioned backing up an entire VM/OS partition in one case that I thought that was an interesting example of this principle.
When in doubt take it out of the programmer's hands!
In NT8 it would be nice if the Long/Short order functions work a little more intuitively.
EnterLong() -> Should enter a long position of the default size regardless of the current market position, that is, if it is short 100 units and someone wished to be long 100, the system should generate 200 purchases to go long 100 at the end.
Currently it seems like I need to know my position and would need to call EnterLong(200) manually if I am short 100, or EnterLong(100) if I am flat. This is more like a BUY() function rather than Long function. If you go Long(100) and you are short 100, you end up flat not long 100.
