Hi Everyone.
I've just joined the community, which I found while researching my way into the day trading field.
I'm a Program Manager in Computer industry, used to be a programmer (and now just program for my fun, as I miss the hands-on ). I have a small portfolio of mainly Bonds & EFTs, not in the US, and now looking for learning the new Day Trading field so I can have:
- some more "spare" money for saving (kids are getting older all the time )
- financial security (in the Hi-Tech field, you are getting "too old" way too soon )
- learning new things - always love this.
My current direction, is to trade Futures, mainly the indexes, but nothing is yet final (still learning, so I can set my plan).
Been using a 30 days trail as a simulator, but I now clearly see that I'll need to find a longer way to train using simulation (before moving the real money). Any idea how to do it, will be highly appreciated.
Any tips, books, tools I can have to start learning, will be just great.
BTW - is it acceptable to open a Journal just for simulation trading (as I will love hear comments on this phase too)?
Of course it is acceptable to create a journal thread for simulation trades only as long as you clearly state that these trades are SIM only.
So just proceed and create a thread with your journal, and you'll see that you will get some comments, advice and suggestions rather sooner than later.

I am beginner trader and I have been trading on and off. I am glad to join futures.io (formerly BMT). Looking to improve my trading skills and money management skills.
I am new to this site, but it already impressed me alot when was trying to find useful information about trading.
Well, I am quite new to this kind of business and I do not have open real account yet, but that is not my actual task TO DO. My first quest, that I have decided to follow is to gather the information base about the futures. So, thats it! I am new to this(app. a year or so), gathering info that I like, searching and making an overall vision about my future steps. I am not doing this very fast, I HAVE TIME! To be honest, up to this point I have managed this - Found my favourite instruments and trading method- INTRADAY, - mini Dow-Jones and E-mini Nasdaq markets to look into, found my actual analyzing program and platform - NinjaTrader 7, doing a backtesting and found myself very interested in PRICE ACTION working -everything about it, now realised that support and resistances is the key to potential victory and orderflow watching, also very useful. Still trying to watch over myself to not get drown in sooo many information at once, as this is also dangerous, to be over-educated at once (i am joking) and to be even more honest, I am gathering my base capital for first real trading. Before that there is really lot of backtesting to be done and even more of paper trading before I decidde to which broker I will fill the pocket with commisions (no offense to all good brokers around)
So, thats it, I am rather talkative kind of a guy, so not sure If anyone will read this long stuff
I am going to take a look around at this forum now )
