Meaning, the OCO is not riding on your computer anymore, and would still trigger if you lose connection? If that is correct, that is one more safety net worth having, particularly without a cost difference. I have rarely needed seatbelts in a car, but wear them every time just in case.
I had an OCO mishap several years ago. I had a CL contract trade with profit target and stop loss bracket set, went to bed, woke up and was down over $2000 on a single contract. My bracket was around a $500 risk.
The profit hit first, but since the OCO did not trigger it left the stop loss as an open pending order going the other direction. The market reversed overnight and impulsed through my stop, putting me back in but this time with no target or stop loss.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
If using Mirus Futures and BigTick, are there regular times when an account becomes "unavailable for trading", such as daily system reset, or scheduled maintenance etc. If so does NinjaTrader need to be restarted to resume trading?
Using Mirus Futures and BigTick:
1. Can a NinjaTrader NinjaScript algorithm use SetStopLoss() and SetProfitTarget() simultaneously?
2. Can a NinjaTrader ATM strategy use Stop loss and Profit target simultaneously?
Using Mirus Futures and BigTick:
Is the brokers return response to trade executions guaranteed to be in the sequence that NinjaTrader requires? Is BigTick specifically coded to respond, each and every time, trade execution data in a specific order?
