in this post I would like to introduce my self .
My name is Elle and I'm a completely beginner . I've just opened my account with Ninjatrader two weeks ago with 8k. I gained 1k and lost 4k and well , I must admit that I don't have a trading plan .
Actually I don't have enough education either . I watched my first DVD about trading few months ago , from tradetheticker and found useful informations about stock trading . But because I wanted to avoid pattern day trader rule I decided to switch into futures , did few weeks of simulation but I am not sure it was useful because the emotional component is not there and I feel very confident while I am simulating .
Anyway , since I feel quite lonely in this journey I decided to join this community and I really hope to learn how to become a consistent and profitable trader because I love this job and this is what I want to do for a living .
I just joined this forum because I actually tracked some posts here for about two years now and I finally decided to become a member. And in case I also use it very frequently, which I intend to do, I will think about becoming an Elite Member. But now about me:
I am a 25 year old MSc Finance student and currently located in Oxford, but actually I live in Dortmund. I started trading 2012 when I got into a trading game of cmc markets, but I took it seriously two years ago. I started practicing C# programming after lectures and I worked on it six hours a day for one year. A year ago I downloaded NinjaTrader and became addicted. Well, it literally became kind of my job and I absorbed tons of literature, which of course was also beneficial for my grades at the university.
Some might think that one or two years is nothing and I agree, but I was very "lucky" that my boyfriend already went through all the shitty stuff like loosing 200k, being too emotional and thinking to know it better than the market. He pushed me and taught me which mistakes to avoid and we finally developed some really profitable algorithms for Futures Trading (Cocoa, FDAX). We now intend to further diversify our trading with US T-Bills, German Bonds, Oil, S&P and some others and in case it works fine we think about studying Maths/Statistics to further improve our technical skills. Some of our approaches include Swing Trading, but we actually try everything NinjaTrader has to offer and don't adapt existing strategies.
That is why I registered because I am pretty sure I can learn from all of you and of course I will do my best to support some very beginners that might struggle with NinjaTrader.
I just got an email and it was a personal message from a member who asked me a question. but it seems I can not reply to the question via a personal message request to me until I first get 5 posts. and I cant seem to find a place to make posts.
thank god this will be my 3rd post and only 7 to go to reach 10
this is crazy. too much. I need places to talk to people. at elite trader there are threads that give an opportunity to do that. they ask newbies questions about trading. the questions are pretty good. but it gives an opportunity to get involved on the web site.
I'm new to forum but not trading. I'm mostly an options and futures trader of ES but also like to follow interest rates, swap spreads and currencies although I do not trade the later. Hope to be able to share some knowledge as well as learn some new stuff.
